Respondent (Respondent.io) founded in 2016 by Jack Pratten and headquartered in Brooklyn, New York. They are a company that offer to pay you for your participation in online research studies. 

Their company and focus is very different from all other survey sites and survey apps that I have reviewed. They facilitate focus group surveys and one on one consumer based research based studies online and in person. 

They pay you to take part in research studies. 

They only have one way of paying you, and that is the worldwide universally acceptable PayPal

In this section I like to differentiate from other sites and reviewers by digging down and looking at how Respondent functions as a Business and generates revenue. 

This helps you to quickly understand if they are legit or a scam and see if they can pay you what is claimed. 

Effectively speaking Respondent function as an agency, a middleman between you and the company, more often than not start ups that have the surveys for you to complete. 

They get paid by their clients to collect the data and feedback that they need to improve their products and enhance their market position. 

You job is simply to take part in their surveys and as best as you can and in turn get rewarded for your efforts. 

Who Is Respondent For?

Respondent is available for anyone, regardless of their location. A truly international opportunity. 

You can register by just entering your email address or your social profiles for:

• Facebook
• Linkedin.

Once you have decided which registration method suits you best, all you need to do is proceed to completing your profile information. If you elected to join using your email address you will need to confirm your email. 

It is a very uncomplicated straight forward process. 

There are only two money making option and opportunities with this platform and those are:

1. Projects
2. Their Referral Program

Let's now talk in more detail about these two ways of earning. 

• 1 Projects

These projects are essentially research studies that you can take part in. You will find them in the member's area on the dashboard, just view all that are available and take part in the ones that you like, or as many as you can. 

I advise you to start with the ones that pay you the most. 

Prior to taking part in any project you are required to apply for it. The company that it belongs to will then review your criteria and decide if you qualify for their project.

The qualification will depend on your profile, consider it like a job interview. You must also take their qualification screener. 

You will not be paid for this screener. 

Respondent has a rather annoying limitation which allows you to apply for a maximum of 3 projects every 24 hours. 

The smart person will apply for the 3 highest paying projects every 24 hours. You are told how much you can earn for the project before you decide to take it. 

There are two different types of projects available which are:

1. An in person study
2. An online study.

As a note the in person surveys pay more than the online studies, these will be more difficult to qualify for as you will need to be located near to where their study is going to take place. 

Once a study is successfully completed you will be paid for your efforts. 

• 2. Their Referral Program

It is very common for survey sites to have a referral program that you can leverage and take advantage of. 

The Respondent Referral program stands out due to being a little bit different from other programs due to having two ways in which you can earn from them. 

You can, like the common and traditional referral programs you earn from inviting you family, friends and other people to join using your link. 

The other way is to promote a specific study and earn from each person that you invite to that study. 

In both cases you earn US$20 bonus. In order for you to earn your referral must have earned a minimum of US$75 which makes their referral program a pretty tough one to earn from. 

Pocketing US$500 an hour is definitely not going to happen with Respondent. One respondent Review makes it clear that US$21/hour is as much as you can earn as an average earnings. 

Do not that you are only going to get work on an ad hoc basis and will be at best irregular and very limited due to only being allowed to apply for 3 projects per day.

Your earning will also vary on a per project basis. 

In my opinion, and as long as you can get accepted for a reasonable number of projects you could be able to earn yourself in the US$50 to US$60 per month region with this survey site which is about as good as survey sites get. 

As I mentioned earlier your only way of getting paid is by PayPal. They have a payment processing fee of US$1.00 or 5% which ever is the greater.

Which,

Means that if you earn US$60 you will be paid US$57. 

I searched everywhere online, all I usual and regular places and could not find any 100% fully verifiable income proof. 

This does not mean that you should look at Respondent in a poor light, income proof is very rare for online survey sites. 

I encourage you as a reader of my site to be alert and be safe online in your quest to find that way of earning in the digital world. 

To be safe, be sure to do your background checks and keep yourself safe online. 

I checked out Respondent at the Better Business Bureau and found that they are unaccredited and rated at an F. 

I looked for and checked out a wide range of reviews from YouTubers, bloggers, forum users and social media as well as independent review boards for Respondent Reviews

I have found that most reviewers are informing their following and audience that they are a legitimate opportunity that you can earn from, but one or two are edgy regarding their referral program due to the conditions attached. 

Respondent is poorly rated at an average of 1.8 stars form 28 reviewers on Trust Pilot. 

The biggest complaint is non-payment.

There are a lot of goof plus points to Respondent.Io that I did like, which were:

• They are free to join.
• You can earn some money with them.
• They are a worldwide opportunity.
• You can get paid by PayPal.

There are some things that I was no to happy about and did not like about Respondent, which were: 

• They are horrendously rated at the BBB with n F rating.
• There are a few complaints about non-payment.
• They take 5% of your earnings as a processing fee.

Yes,

It is entirely possible that you can make money with Respondent, from my own estimation around US$60 per month is where you will max out. 

I am concerned though regarding the complaints that I found about not getting paid.

In my investigation and study of this site I have not seen any illegal activity relating to fraudulent practices or breaking of the law in this aspect. 

Even though I am willing to say that they are not technically a scam I do have reservations regarding the allegations of not getting paid. 

Respondent reviews on the face of it looks like a very professional and well presented survey opportunity that has the US$60 per month earning potential but I'd be giving them the wide berth and skipping them due to the complaints made about not getting paid. 

I'd hate it if you spent your time completing surveys only to get ignored when it comes to cashing out!
