Earny is a money saving cashback app that was founded in August of 2015 by Llan Zerbib, Oded Vakrat and Dori Yona. They are headquartered in Los Angeles.
The app and idea behind it is actually pretty nifty as it is thrifty!.
It works away in the background like a perfect little personal assistant getting you cashback on items that you have already bought.
When an item you have bought and the price then drops..Ka-ching! Automatic cashback for you!.
The cashback that you qualify for is the price difference between what you paid and the new price.
The aim and objective for the app is that you never pay over the odds for anything.
Earny has received US$11.5 million in funding and earns an estimated US$1 million per year in revenue and get an estimated 35,000 downloads of the app on a monthly basis.

How Does Earny Work?
When you sign up for Earny there is a promt for you to select your main email account.
Earny needs to know that so that it can scan your account for e-receipts and get to work and earn you cashback straight away. Whenever there is a price drop in items you have bought..you will get cashback.
There is nothing for you to do on your part it all works away automatically. There is not even a need for you to log in and check the app at all!.

Earny’s Hotel Price Protection
Earny also work with a number of hotel booking agents and hotel reservation search engines and functions in a fairly similar way to your regular retail purchases.
It is actually a pretty cool feature - you don't actually need to do anything.
The Earny App just tracks your booking by using your email address and the confirmation email and tracks price drops.
If and when the price does drop you will get an email notification with instructions on how you can re-book at the new cheaper price!.
Who Uses Earny App?
The Earny App is of particular use for those that make a lot of cashless transactions online or using their bankcards when out and about.
Most likely you will have been affected by a price drop and not know about it! and miss out. This app is designed for those that want to get that cashback and no longer miss out on it and without the hassle of actually having to process the claim yourself.
The app takes a cut of the refund fee in exchange of having gotten you the cashback.
This is a business model that I do like - if you don't actually get any cashback they don't get paid which motivates them to be on the ball and get you your cashback.

Getting Started With Earny
Getting started with Earny is very easy and only takes a few minutes. You need to get the app and just let it work away in the background.
You can also use it on your desktop, laptop or tablet but personally I find the smart phone much more convenient.
1. Permit Access To You Email
This app needs access to your email account for it to function properly and most effectively. All it wants and needs to do is read your purchase receipts and nothing else.
If you have privacy concerns that they will read your emails, you have no need or reason to worry at all. If you do - just set up an email account that you use for your online transactions only.
This is what I do. Not for privacy concerns just for a matter of convenience and able to find a receipt should I need to.
2. Link Your Amazon Account
This step is advised but entirely optional. it is a step that I would hang back on for now.
At this moment in time earny request that you give them your amazon email address and password. This something that you should never do.
Amazon has an option for linking your account with various apps using some kind of API or something similar (sorry, I'm not a coder or tech minded). It is something I have seen on other apps like Snagshout
Until you see that connect/link amazon account button I would n't go around linking your amazon account. This way you are linking it without giving away your amazon email or password details.
3. Link Your Credit Card To Earny
You may not know it or be aware if it is one of the major selling points of credit cards is the price matching promises, some, depending on the issuing company, offer a price matching guarantee for as long as 120 days with 60 and 90 day price match guarantee being pretty common.
Which basically means, should the price of something that you bought during that time frame drops in price you get cashback.
Which is the principle and foundation upon which Earny works.
4. Invite Your Friends To Use Earny
Entirely optional, and not obliged at all. You can if you wish, apply to join the Earny Ambassador program where you will earn 5% of your friends cash back and 5% of whom they refer.
If you invite enough people you could end up with a nice little side income. My best guess is you need triple figure of active people referred for it to be worth your while.

The Earny App accesses your email and knows what items you have purchased, and given that there are various time frames depending on the retailer and your credit card provider they provide you with a a very cool easy to follow visual display inside the app of the refund flow and status of each purchase.

- 25% Cut that they take is a big large - Paribus is much more extensive and take only 20%.
