What Is Snagshout? Get Huge Amazon Discounts! [Review]

Snagshout, founded in 2014 by Paul Johnson, is an internet platform that connects consumers with brands and retailers. 

When you buy a product on amazon from the snagshout site you are obliged to leave a review of the product that you bought at a heavy discount. 

You are encouraged to leave a positive review, but honesty is more important.

A much better way is to be balanced and open ended give a short introduction and 3 pros and 3 cons and state if you would recommend that a friend buys the product or not - which ever the case may be. 

When you leave your review you are obliged state that you received the product at a discount in exchange for your honest review. 

Failure to do so can be deemed as an invalid review and lead to your account at snagshout being terminated. 

Once you have received your item you have only a 2 week time frame in which to leave your review. Failure to do so will result in you being unable to take advantage of future promotions and maybe even have your account cancelled. 

There is no possibility of you going on a shopping spree with Snagshout as you are limited to buying just 2 items at a time.  

The functionality is exactly the same as Vipon. Although you, as a consumer can enjoy some pretty cool discount codes and cheap products, I do believe that leave reviews in exchange for a discount - from either side, consumer and seller is against Amazon's terms of service.

How Snagshout functions is pretty easy to workout. Retailers on Amazon, those with their own amazon shop need sales. 

In order to generate sales the Amazon retailer uses Snagshout as a platform to get product reviews which in turn helps the retailer to rank their products above others in the amazon marketplace, which in turn helps the retailer to get genuine full fee paying sales. 

In order to get on the Snagshout site the retailer needs to pay a monthly fee and provide snagshout with a list of discount codes and how many discounts per item are getting a discount. 

Snagshout then list their item, with the discount code on their site for you to click through and buy. 

At this point - I suspect snagshout are using their own affiliate tracking link and earning a small commission on the heavily discounted retail sales made. 

It is all pretty well thought out as the whole idea and concept does create a win-win-win situation:

• You Win: A lovely heavy discount on products
• Amazon Seller Wins: They make a sale and do make "some" money and rank higher on Amazons marketplace
• Amazon Win: They make money too based on the transaction, seller fees and so on!. 

You could say that it is rather manipulative and Black Hat under hand Amazon SEO. But it does help the ordinary guy in the streets to compete on a more level playing field and get their products seen (and bought) and compete with much larger brands with huge advertising budgets. 

I don't know about you but I'd rather help some hard working guy be able to send his kids to college than some big corporate big shot to buy a second or third holiday villa on a private island somewhere!.

SignUp And Create An Account

Signing up for Snagshout is completely free from the shoppers side of things you can sign up in two ways:

1. Use Your Facebook to create an account.
2. Use Your Email and create a password. 

Once you have done that all that is left is to confirm your email address and confirm your Amazon account. 

Snag A Deal

Once your account is all set up you are free to search through what deals they have on offer and search through their various offers and categories. 

Snagshout has the following categories on their site:

It is fair to say that you will find something to buy at a discount on the site as they do seem to have something for everyone.

You can also opt to get email updates and when you link your amazon account get get notified 24 hours before everyone else does and thus increasing your chances of snagging a deal!. 

Talking of which you will often see deals telling you how many items are left for that particular offer. 

3 Snag It and Buy It!

When you see something that you like and it has a lovely discount click through and buy it.

The link will take you over to Amazon where you can buy the item. You will also be given a discount coupon code that you need to use to get your discount. 

Then just proceed as you normally would - don't forget to enter the discount code!

4 Leave a Review

There is no obligation for you to sing the praises from the roof tops as to how fantastic a particular product is or give it 5 stars.

Rate the product honestly and be descriptive, tell potential buyers what you liked and what you disliked about the item you bought. 

If the product is shoddy and 3rd rate - say so. If it is brilliant, again, say so in your review. 

Your point here is to leave an honest review and not to sell the product for the product owner. Help the consumer make a proper informed decision. 

Don't forget to mention in your review that you received the product in exchange for a discount.

SnagShout Review Update

Amazon updated their terms of service and now sites operating like Snagshout are in violation of those terms -it is not permitted to give discounts in exchange for reviews.

Snagshout has now aligned themselves with the latest changes and no longer offer discounts in exchange for reviews.  

You can still get a discount while using snagshout - no longer and obligation to leave a review. Currently they are operating like a discount cashback rebate site.

One thing that I always do is check out how a company and website is rated by the Better Business Bureau. 

This help us to see how professionally and legally a company conducts business, which forms a good base for how much we can trust them. 

Unfortunately, there is no listing for Snagshout on the Better Business Bureau Website. This is something that did not impress me at all as besides being a website they are also a business. 

By default Snagshout are Unaccredited and Not Rated as an official status with the BBB.

Indeed you can. It fairly possibly that you would also get cashback on your purchases using a card that you have lined to Paribus or Dosh App. 

You can laso keep your receipt and upload it to Receipt Hog and ReceiptPal

There are a lot of things to like about Snagshout, namely: 

• Quick and easy to sign up. 
• Lot of good deals available. 
• You can save money! (My fave sport!)
• Link your amazon account and get notified ahead of everyone else

There are some things that I did not like about Snagshout. 

• Not Available Worldwide
• Limited to 2 purchases 
• You might be hit with expensive shipping charges.
• It is slightly manipulative of amazon SEO and consumer behaviour

No, Snagshout is not a place where you will make money. You might save money and get some cashback but you won't make a single penny. 

This is not a job or a money making opportunity. 

In my opinion Snagshout is not a scam. 

I have not seen nor uncovered any intentional or unintentional acts of deceit or deception that would lead me to think or conclude that Snagshout are a scam.

I'd say go for it!.
