Is The Real Wealth Strategist A Scam? What Are Freedom Checks?

Of course he is going to claim that freedom check are not a scam, but you better believe the marketing behind it is! - perhaps intentionally misleading to create a two pronged marketing plan - first the hype then the follow up marketing such as the video below. 

Real Wealth Strategist is a financial advice newsletter that delivers to your inbox advice based on Matt Badiali's expert advice. 

Let's talk about what you get with the Real Wealth Strategist. 

• Monthly Newsletter Direct To Your Inbox: This is the main product and is focused on what stock or particular company that Matt Badiali is checking out and studying for each particular month. This is packed with highly detailed information and is researched in depth - something Mr Badiali is known and well respected for.  

• Access To The Editors, Matt Badiali’s, Own Model Portfolio: This is particularly interesting as you can model Matt Badiali's own strategies and portfolio. He has it divided in 3 distinct sections - Buy's, Hold's, and Best Buys. 12-18 stocks can be listed in a typical year. All the details are available, stop loss, current price, buy in price, amount gained or lost (as a percentage). This list is updated daily. 

• Weekly Podcasts: As a subscriber to the Real Wealth Strategist you will receive weekly Podcasts with an overview of the markets in which he specialises in (commodities and natural resources). He answers questions from the mail bag and offers insights to trades that he is monitoring. The podcasts are short typically 10 to 20 min long 

• Trade Alerts: This is pretty good bonus, any immediate alert be it an action to be taken be it a buy or sell you will be alerted straight away by email. 

• Golden Interview Series: Frequently Matt Badiali interviews experts and insiders in the industries of interest. 

• 24/7/365 access to the Members Area Of Real Wealth Strategist  Website.  

Evidently this is not going to be a solid and reliable way of making money on a sustainable basis.

3. To see gains you must follow the advice to the letter. If you miss out or make your own calculations or deviate from the advice it is possible that you won't see the same wins or any wins!
4.  Stock Market Investment Is Never Guaranteed.

How Much Is The Real Wealth Strategist?

There are 3 different pricing points for the Real Wealth Strategist: 

• Standard Subscription US$47
• Premium Subscription US$79
• Delux Subscription US$129

Each subscription is for 12 months and auto renewable and comes with varying bonuses with the Delux subscription including both digital and print version of the newsletter. 

A publication be it a book or a newsletter does not get accredited nor rated by the better business bureau as it not considered as a business in it's own right. 

However we can look into the Publishing company behind the newsletter, Banyan Hill Publishing.

Banyan Hill are not Accredited by The Better Business Bureau nor hold any rating other than NR - Not rated. 

There are a few concerning complaints about the publishing company, I am only focusing on the newsletter. 

The complaint reproduced below is directly related to Real Wealth Strategist Newsletter. It appears the problem is with the auto resubscription  to the newsletter. 

This particular complaint below is in reference to the Freedom checks website which is a sales funnel for The Real Wealth Strategist website. 

That particular web site is responsible for the whole "Freedom Checks" thing. Yes, Freedom Check are Master Limited Partnerships - something Matt Badiali admits to. 

There are a lot of complaints regarding that video due to misleading advertising, this is something I wholly agree with. 

There are things that I liked about The Real Wealth Strategist Newsletter: 

• The newsletter is written and edited by a real person as opposed to a fake fictitious persona
• The Editor Matt Badiali is a proven expert in the field of fiance and investing. 
• You get access to his portfolio and can emulate/duplicate his exact trades. 
• Very affordable.

Nothing is ever perfect and there are a few things that I did not like about The Real Wealth Strategist. 

• The Publisher, Banyan Hill, has a horrible reputation in the industry. 
• The Hyped Up Marketing, particularly related to the "Freedom Checks" Marketing campaign. 
•  Testimonials in the Freedom Checks Video are fake and exaggerated. 
• Investing can end up with you loosing money and takes large amounts to make "normal" dollar amounts in gains. 

I do believe it is possible to make money with the advice given by an expert in the world of finance and with sound investing. 

The big difficulty is the amount of money taken to receive what would be liveable dollar amounts.

Typical returns are in the 5% to 10% region. So, when you see returns of US$50,000 being waved around, rest assured somewhere in the region of half a million to one million dollars has been invested. 

No, the real wealth strategist newsletter is not a scam. To label something as a scam some sort of illegal activity or crime has to have taken place, and can be proven so. 

I'm not one for crying wolf, I'm not calling Matt Badiali a wolf on Wall Street either!. 

Not a scam, I don't think many common people will make much money from the advice in the newsletter due to limited finance to invest. 

Being well informed and educated in regards to fiance or what I call good financial education and how that world works is something badly missing from our education system - perhaps it is designed that way!

While I am all for everyone (myself included) gaining a sound background in financial education to improve our financial health. 

I am not so sure this newsletter will provide the information and education required. 

If you are interested in the world of finance and don't quite have a lump sum to invest you can give some serious though to building a fun blog on the topic in your spare time.

As you create content and drive traffic to your fun finance (or money saving) blog you can monetise it with affiliate sales. You can recommend newsletters, books from amazon, and investing courses for example. 

When someone buys a product you can gain a commission.

Once your blog gains traffic you can start to add more monetisation methods like display ads - meaning you can earn a completely passive income from your blogs without the need of or in addition to affiliate sales. 

Then, of course you can start to think of your own info product - digitally downloadable or adding in an exclusive members oly area and turn your site into a membership site and earn from subscriptions.

That is 4 income strategies for a single site. The great part is you can apply this to any topic - not just finance or frugal living.  

Think of 3 hobbies or three things that you are passionate about and love doing or three things that are of interest to you.
