Nu Skin is brand of skincare, personal care and health & wellness products owned by Nu Skin Enterprises. Founded in 1984 by Steve Lund, Blake Roney, Nedra Roney, and Sandie N. Tillotson in Utah.
Nu Skin is a publicly listed company on the NYSE under the ticker symbol NUS having gone public in 1996.
The business model adopted by the company is the polemic multi level marketing, and over they years have been no stranger to controversy having been investigated by the FTC in the early 1990's on more than one occasion!.
In fact, several occasions and not only in America!.
The accusations ranged from complaints over their management of their MLM program, deceptive advertising and inaccurate income statement claims, unsubstantiated claims regarding their products and the operation of an illegal pyramid scheme in China.
Nu Skin were also accused of bribing a top Chinese official after a probe by the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Quite Clearly, this company are more colorful than a rainbow!.
Generating over $2.7Bn a year in annual revenue makes Nu Skin one of the few MLM businesses that make over a Billion USD per year in revenue.
Similar Companies to Nu Skin include:
Let's now talk about the Nu skin product line.

Being a multi level marketing business, there are two main ways in which you can earn money:
The Nu Skin Compensation plan has 10 levels which is pretty alarming as experts in the MLM industry start to raise flags when commissions are paid on 5 or more levels, known as the rule of 5.
10 levels is far too many levels to pay out on, remember, all those commissions have to be factored into a products pricing. This is the very reason as why products in the MLM sphere tend to be rather expensive.
On the plus side, direct retail sales can range from 5%-25% commission.
Watch the video below for a clear explanation of the Nu Skin compensation Plan.
If you are at all like myself, then you will be the type of person that checks out companies and businesses and judges their professionality and reputation based on how consumer organisations view them.
If a business is well respected by such associations, organisations and advocacy groups then it can be a good indication as to how much we can trust them.
Nu Skin are fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau and hold a perfect A+ rating.
There are some quite concerning complaints about Nu Skin in regards to the adverse effects that may be experienced while using their products.
Another related to billing issues and the slightly deceptive behavior of the companies distributors and reps.
No, the Food And Drug Administration do not allow businesses to make any claims about natural products and the effect that they have on any function or structure of the body.
Also, there is no information about the companies products being manufactured to the FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices standards. It appears that Nu Skin are not cGMP certified.
No,
Nu Skin products are not all natural. They use a number of botanical ingredients in the manufacture of their products but they are used along side synthetic ingredients also.
This is evident from the ingredients list on the label of their products
The last sentence (see image above) clearly tells you that synthetic ingredients are use in their products.

There are some things about Nu Skin that I did like:
Nu Skin are fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau and currently hold a perfect A+ Rating with the organisation.
Credit where it is due, Nu Skin have been in business for an incredibly long time and indication of not being some kind of "fly by night" kind of organisation.
There is a lot that I did not like about Nu Skin:
I'm not sure if this company spend more time in the court room than outside of it!.
It is never good when you see a company that has a history of false product claims.
In my opinion it is never good to see a network marketing company with a strong focus on recruitment. Product sales are what drives a business not recruitment.
The fact that the company are willing to pay over 10 levels deep is quite concerning, when experts in the industry claim 5 is too much!.
In my opinion their products are very expensive, this leads to difficulties when it comes to selling.
In my opinion you will find it difficult ti earn full time liveable income working with Nu Skin.
Going by the image above, the companies income disclosure statement, 95% of distributors fail to earn a full time income.
That is enough information to make you think twice and thrice about moving forward with this opportunity.
Despite the fact that many MLM opportunities do look like pyramid schemes, or as some label them, pyramid schemes is disguise.
Nu Skin is not a pyramid scheme nor a Ponzi scheme. They are a legitimate business with a legitimate opportunity attached to them.
Yes, Nu Skin
Nu Skin is not a scam. They might be an opportunity

Nu Skin are certainly colorful when you investigate their history and the allegations thrown at them. Not many companies end up with legal action against them by two super power countries.
The court room history that I uncovered really made me uncomfortable in regards to recommending Nu Skin to you.
Thus, I certainly do not recommend that you have anything to do with Nu Skin as far a starting a business with them goes.
Besides, MLM companies are opportunities, regardless of which one, are incredibly and notoriously difficult to profit from and make a full time income.
