What Are The Application Requirements?

To be considered for any positions with Absolute Transcription you need to be a resident in the United States and have a minimum of 3 years clinical or acute care experience. 

You must pass their transcription test. 

In depth and detailed knowledge of, and understanding of medical terms, terminology and drugs is a required. 

You need to have an up to date specialist spell checker for medical terms and references with a preference given to Stedman's. 

You must be able to meet their 24 hour turn around time. 

Depending on which position you have been accepted for you are required to complete either 8,000 or 12,000 lines transcribed per pay period. 

8,000 for the part time position of 25-30 hours per week, and 12,000 for the full time position of 40 hours per week. 

They use Abacus line counting software - you will need to use this when you are working with them. 

You must have your own desktop or laptop. It is required that you have your own headset, foot pedal and Express Scribe Software.

You need to have experience with using FTP software and express scribe. 

You computer system should have a reasonably good sound card, the latest OS and its updates and MS Word 2010 or greater. 

It is not mentioned I expect strong grasp of the English Language, including punctuation, Grammar and Spelling is required. The use of a professional grammar checker will help you a lot here. 

No minimum typing speed is mentioned.
