AI media as a business function as a Business Process Outsourcing Company utilising the agency business model.
The work comes to AI Media from their clients that need closed captions added to their videos.
This work gets outsourced to their network of capable and competent work from home transcriptionists and closed captioners who are freelancers and independent contractors.

To be a good Transcriptionist and good at Closed Captions you need to have excellent command of the English Language, both colloquial and formal.
You should have the ability to type the time length of the particular clip or screen for smooth transition from one screen to following screen.
As a live captioner - the work can be demanding as you need to be sharp, fast and above all accurate.
Typical live transcription typing speeds are of 200+ words per minute or more.
The work itself, live or recorded can be both very interesting and boring at the same time due to the repetitive nature of the job - type what you hear!.
It is not what I would call a difficult job, but it is a skilled job, one that requires a good ear, fast typing skills as well as solid knowledge of English grammar including spelling and punctuation.
You will also need to know standard formatting and styling requirements for each job and knowledge of commonly used software.
What Are The Application Requirements?
AI Media don't state what the requirements are for their transcriptionists and Captioners are.
Here are what common requirements are for this kind of employment:
- You must have first class English Language Skills including punctuation and grammar.
- Live captions transcribers must be able to type accurately at a rated of 180 to 220 words per minute typically.
- You must have a modern Laptop with a fast secure internet connection.
- Real Time Closed Caption Software (often provided).
- Transcribers Headset.

I expect that as captioner or transcriber you will be given a test to complete at some point as a means of proving your ability.

AI-Media.Tv do not mention any set working hours for their transcription captioners.
I expect that as a captioner with this company you will be able to set your own hours and days, however, as live captioner you must work to a fixed schedule due to the very nature of what they are doing.

How Much Can You Make With AI Media?
The salary is not stated anywhere on their site, nor have I found any indication of the salary on offer for the positions they are hiring for.
However this AI Media Review indicates US$27 to US$42 per video hour is the rate of pay given.
This is per video hour and not per work hour. For a more accurate "per work hour" your will need to divide this figure by 3 or 4, depending on your typing speed.
How Does AI Media Pay You?
It is specifically mentioned, but I do get the feeling that this company hire locally only in the countries in which they operate.
Thus, I suspect you will be paid by direct deposit to your bank account.

Well, sort of. AI Media looks like they hire only in Australia, US, Canada, Norway and Singapore.
Is AI Media Accredited By The BBB?
If a work from home opportunity catches your attention, I suggest that you be smart and do your homework and do some background checks.
I have found no trace of AI Media on the Better Business Bureau website at all which is disappointing.
By default their rating is Unaccredited and Not Rated.

AI-Media are averagely reviewed on Glassdoor at 3.2 with only 54% saying they would recommend a friend to work there.
On Indeed.com they were similarly rated at 3.5.
The most common complaints were very predictable, difficult to understand audio and low pay.

AI media is not a scam. I have found no suggestion or indication that they are involved in and wrong doing or not paying their independent contractors what they are due.

There are a number of Alternatives to AI-Media, here are just a few.
All of those, and the many others out there are agencies which are just temporarily solving your problem of wanting to get out of the office.
Effectively speaking you are just transferring your place of work from the office to working at home - your work life balance is still the same in respect to working for someone else, being dictated to and earning slightly less than what you can should you be working for yourself.
My personal suggestion is that you become a full on freelancer and work for yourself - it only take 3-4 regular clients and you have more than enough work to fill out your working week...and you are not giving away the bulk of it to an agency!.

My AI Media Review - The Final Conclusion
AI-Media are a company that could be fun to work with and certainly challenging, particularly if and when you are performing live captions.
Unfortunately am not to convinced as per the regularity of work due to being a small company.
Sure they have multi locations worldwide but those I suspect are rented addresses due to generating less than US$1 Million per year.
This why I am not recommending you hedge your bets on these guys. Focus on something better like properly freelancing as a transcriptionist.
