Is PrizeRebel a Scam? Read Before You Try! [Review]

PrizeRebel is an online survey and "Get Paid To" site that was founded in 2007 and headquartered in San Diego.  No further information about their ownership is known. 

The site offers you the opportunity to earn money for completing various tasks, including surveys. 

Get paid to sites are nothing new there are literally hundreds of these online with the better and more popular ones being:

The one major problem with all of these sites is not the low earning of typically one or two dollars per day it the fact that you are not learning anything at all in regards to the actual process of making money online. 

You can mess around on any one of a number of theses sites for as long as you like but you will not learn any of the skills that you need to succeed online.

How PrizeRebel Works as a business is very easy and simple to understand.

From the survey side they receive payment from market research companies and/or brands and business owners who need data from their target audience in regards as to how their products and services are seen. 

This information is actually highly beneficial for the companies involved as it helps them to improve their products and services, potentially gaining a market edge. 

The Completion of tasks part of their business is very easy to understand also as it is a branch of affiliate marketing called cost per acquisition marketing. 

For each action - task that you complete the site will be paid for that and then forward a portion of their earnings to you for completing the task.

PrizeRebel is for two particular groups of users of I call front end users and back end users. 

The front end users who are members of the general public that are seeking to earn extra money from home. 

The back end users are business users typically advertisers and market research companies looking to create more awareness for their brands of gather market intelligence from their surveys.

Signing up with PrizeRebel is super simple you two main ways of signing up to PrizeRebel:

 How To Make Money With PrizeRebel?

There are a few different ways in which you can make money with PrizeRebel, which are as follows: 

1. Take And Complete Surveys. 

You can earn points by taking and completing online surveys. Their surveys are available to users worldwide but it does look like those residing in the US and Canada will earn much better.  

PrizeRebel has partnered with Peanut labs and it is now possible for you to take their surveys right in the PrizeRebel Dashboard without the need for leaving their site - very convenient.

2. Paid Offers

You can earn points and thus money by completing offers. Offers are both free and paid, the paid ones requiring money but do reward more that the free offers.

Their paid offers come from their partner sites which are:

If and when you try the paid offers do remember to unlink your credit card and cancel the offer, if you forget you can find yourself charged for a whole months fee or for the value of the products.

PrizeRebel has Partnered with Offertoro which means you can earn points to play some games on your smartphone.

Some of the games actually pay quite good and oblige you to play for 10 minutes or so or to reach a certain level to earn a certain amount of points. 
I have seen some games that pay 300 points - US$3 for 10 minutes of playing. Not so bad at all!. 

4. Take Part In Raffles

This obviously one of those games based luck. If lady luck is on your side then you have the opportunity to triple your points.

Playing around here you might also end up loosing your points. New prizes are made available on a weekly basis. Taking part will cost you 10 cents for the opportunity to win a gift card for US$5 to US$10.

You can take part in the daily contests that you find in PrizeRebel there are 4 distinct contests, which are:

2. Tasks

These contest simply reward the most active users. If you mange to rank top in the contest you will win US$5 bonus on top of what you earn for completing the tasks. 

6. Lucky Numbers

This is more of a game strongly based on luck, similar to the raffles mentioned above. It is actually more like a lottery game, with the exception that you choose only 4 numbers and then wait for the draw. 

7.Complete Tasks

You can get paid for completing certain tasks which can be as simple as adding a description to a photograph or writing a product description.

These tasks are completed using Figure Eight - formerly known as crowdflower.

8. Prize Rebel Referral Program

Pretty much all reward sites have a referral program of some kind or another - PrizeRebel is no different.

With the PrizeRebel you can earn 20% of what your referrals earn on an ongoing basis for life.  

How much you earn is based entirely on your membership level which are as follows, alongside how to qualify for that level. 

• Bronze membership level To Qualify You Need 1,000 points or less
• Silver membership level To Qualify You Need At least 1,001 points
• Gold membership level To Qualify You Need At least 3000 points
• Platinum membership level To Qualify You Need at least 7000 points
• Diamond membership level To Qualify You Need at least 12,000 points

Rising in the points ladder not only leads to more and better commissions but also leads to more payment options.

How Do PrizeRebel Pay You?

PrizeRebel have a minimum payout threshold of 100 points - US$1.00

You can cashout to your Paypal account once you have reached 500 points threshold. 

Evidently this is not going to be a solid and reliable way of making money on a sustainable basis.

PrizeRebel are not accredited and hold a very unimpressive F rating. 

There are a few concerning complaints made about PrizeRebel lodged with the Better Business Bureau. 

I have reproduced those below as evidence and for your reading and awareness.

Typically you are not going to be able to make all that much money on or with PrizeRebel - regardless of having a referral program or not. 

With the Referral program you won't make much because as soon as your referrals realise that they are not earning much their will stop using PrizeRebel. 

Which in all essence would mean a high churn rate. 

These get paid to sites typical earnings are only in the one to two dollars per day range. 

Yes, Prize Rebel is a globally available and users from all countries can join and take part. 

There are no restrictions at based on location - although I add the better paying surveys seem to be for those residing in US and Canada. 

There a lot of plus points to Prize Rebel, here are some of the main things that I liked about PrizeRebel.

• There are a lot of surveys available
• Lot of different ways to earn money
• It is free to join and use!
• There are a variety of Payout Options

There were some things that I did not like about PrizeRebel, which were: 

• Poorly rated at the BBB - could n't be worse! F rating!.
• If you are inactive for 6 months - you can wave goodbye to your points earned. 
• Constant questions!. Before every survey you get asked the same prequalifying questions...every single survey!
• Low earning opportunity!

Although it is actually possible for you to earn money with PrizeRebel we are not talking about a fantastic amount here - a couple of bucks per day maybe and that is it!. 

Personally I do not see PrizeRebel As A Scam, not by a long shot. It is a low earning income opportunity that does not teach you any of the skills that you need to make a real income online. 

But a scam it is not!. 

I am not at all a fan of these reward sites or survey sites at all. These sites in my opinion serve no purpose at all in your quest to build a business or to make money online - at least in a sustainable way and a significant amount. 

In my opinion you should give some serious deep thought to learning what it is that you need to make a success of yourself online in the digital world. 

Developing real life and real world marketing skills are what separates those that are succeeding online and those that are spinning their wheels. 

It is those skills that are the "why" behind some people succeeding with a certain opportunity and other failing with it. 

My suggestion to you is to get on the ball and take a training course and learn the skills that you need to help you achieve your financial goals online. Putting in the effort and learning the skills from a proper training course will cut your learning curve by as much as 2 or 3 years.
