Ambit Energy is a multinational business in the utility market providing natural gas and electricity in Canada, Japan and the states of America that are deregulated. 

The deregulated areas in which the operate are as follows:

• California
• Delaware
•  Illinois
• Massachusetts
• New York
• Rhode Island
• Maine
• Washington, D.C
• Texas
• Indiana
• Maryland
• Ohio
• Connecticut
• Pennsylvania
• New Hampshire
• New Jersey
• Virginia

That's 17 states in total.  It wasn't until 2017 that the company entered the Canadian and Japanese markets. 

Ambit Energy was founded in 2006 by Chris Chambless and Jere W. Thompson, Jr , whose father founded 7 Eleven. The company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

Currently the company generate $1.5Bn Annually in revenue and have 650+ employees. 

The company operates it's business using the multi level marketing business model and are members of the Direct Selling Association

In 2013 they became part of the three coma club along side other multi level marketing firms such as Team National, Melaleuca, Primerica and ACN by generating in excess of $1 Bn USD annually. 

Ambit Energy is something that is completely different from the stereotypical Multilevel network marketing businesses in which you are not actually selling or recommending physical or digitally downloadable products. 

The product line is a service that you just can't live without, in which ever form it is produced energy is something we all use and need. 

With the deregulation of the energy market Ambit Energy have proven that the market can't still be dominated by monopolies post deregulation and that new companies can enter the market and succeed.

Their products are natural gas, electricity,  Green Energy Plan and Solar Services. 

Their Renewable Energy is offered with Renewable Energy Certificates which are validated by the US Department of Energy. Their Solar service is offered through a third party, Sunrun

This utility company have helped both large and small businesses alike to slash their energy bills for over 10 years. 

They have a number of experts and specialists in this area to help small and large businesses to cut their bills, stop paying unneeded fees and provide special benefits as well as very competitive prices for business's. 

Ambit Energy & Their Green-e Energy Plan

Ambit Energy and their Green Energy Plans are unfortunately limited to cover only some of their market in the United States.

Fortunately, though the company is working on expanding this as they have grown very recently from covering only 6 of the 17 states to 11.

I do expect that as a forward thinking energy business, they will cover all 17 deregulated energy states with the option of Green Energy. 

My reason for my prediction is based on both the political aspect and landscape (Paris Agreement, America's obligation have more renewable energy and cut carbon emissions) and the fact that Amber Energy respect the environment and do promote heavily their service of green energy. 

Also, Renewable energy and green energy is very much an ongoing hot topic and a strong selling point for businesses in the energy sector. 

Solar Savings

This I have briefly mentioned above, this is another service for green thinking and climate conscious clients. 

This service is offered by means of their business relationship with a leading supplier of solar energy, Sunrun. 

This service is currently only available in 11 of the 17 states in which Ambit Energy operate, which are as follows:

MLM opportunities are notoriously difficult to succeed with regardless of which opportunity and company.

With the exception of being a utility company Ambit Energy also has a business opportunity using the polemic multi level marketing model.

As it is with MLM opportunities you also have the ability to earn money when your recruits recruit others into the business opportunity. Grow your network and you will grow your business and your income. 

Getting Started With Ambit Energy

Starting your Ambit Energy Business used to set you back a very expensive $429 one off joining fee. Thankfully this fee has been significantly reduced to $75, 

There is also the monthly recurring fee of $24.95 which is for the maintenance of your website. 

The Ambit Energy Compensation Plan Detailed

The Ambit Energy Compensation plan is one of the shortest I have seen, being only a 4 page PDF. 

I have noticed some very nice advantages of taking part in their business opportunity:

1. You can get free energy: This is a bonus that is earned as a reward for referring 15 clients to the company. This is a pretty interesting incentive. Never worry about high bills in the winter with the heating on or summer with the air con blasting away. 
2. Travel reward: You can get travel rewards just for referring clients to ambit or for exchanging your reward points for trips away. 

Being only 4 pages long the compensation plan was distinctly lacking in detail. I was able to dig out some details as follows. 

 Customer And Team Bonuses

The customer & team bonuses are paid on a weekly basis and helps you to get off to a fast start and to start earning with the program.

All you have to do is get clients into your Ambit Energy Business while sponsoring others to do exactly as you are doing. The bonus is $100 for obtaining 4 customer points. 

Those points are earned by getting clients to sign up for energy with the company or to a website package. 

You can also get $100 for assisting someone to do that, henceforth, the recruitment part of the business. 

Residual Commissions

Residual earnings is what makes opportunities like this very interesting and what you will be building towards if you decide to join. 

The actual amount varies upon which market you are in. This is very normal as electricity prices will vary from state to state. 

The compensation plan pays 6 levels deep and you can earn from the performance of your downline and their ability to recruit and get clients to switch energy companies to Ambit. 

Leadership Bonuses

You can earn leadership bonuses when you get a new Marketing consultant and they then get 4 customer points in the set time frame of their first four weeks of joining. 

You can also earn a residual payment based on any of the recruits that a marketing Consultant signs up - providing they perform well and get sales.

When your energy contract for Ambit Energy expires it is automatically switched from fixed rate to variable rate which is more expensive for most clients. You must renew yourself to prevent this from happening. 

To renew your Ambit Energy Contract or to change to a different plan/product follow the steps below: 

1. Log in to your account using the Ambit Energy website with your password and user details. 
2. On the Main screen for your account on the top of the screen look for the "My Service Plan" click the link
3. On the screen that follows you can: Review rates & contracts, choose a range of energy products that meet your needs, read or download your current contract.
4. Select your desired plan and then click "Submit"

Keep it in your mind that if you are on a fixed contract, you can only get a new plan at a maximum of thirty days before it expires and not be subject to early termination penalties. 

If you are on a variable plan, you can choose a new plan at any time that you wish. 

There are  a lot of good points about ambit energy, there are a lot of things that I do like about them. 

Renewable Green Energy

I think that it is great that the company has the option of renewable energy as this is definitely a strong selling point that is only going to grow as each generation becomes more aware of the need for climate change, take responsibility and seek out green options. 

It's An Inexpensive Business Opportunity

The business opportunity is a pretty cheap one to join at only $75 + $24.95 monthly fee.

The Product Is Something That Everybody Uses and Needs

Like it, love it or plain old deny it! We just can't live without electricity!. This makes just about every household  or business that does not currently have Ambit Energy a potential client. 

Nothing is perfect and unflawed, ambit Energy does have its flaws here is what I did not like about the company:

No Income Disclosure Statement

The lack of an income disclosure statement is really deplorable for a company that generates over a billion dollars and is fully accredited by the BBB!.

No Real Details In The Compensation Plan

If you are going to work as an employee for a company you surely want to know the salary on offer right?.

It's the same with any business you start, you want to know how much revenue you can generate for selling the products or services before you start.

Very Little Training Given

To succeed in network marketing you certainly need to have quality training to back you up and help you succeed. I don't see much of that from Ambit Energy. 

They Operate In Only 17 States

A Limited opportunity state wide in only 17 States. Nearly twice as many of which Ambit don't operate!. 

In all essence I really don't think that you can earn a substantial or sustainable full time income from Ambit Energy. 

The main reason for me saying so is the earnings per client that you recruit is incredibly low. 

I have read, double read and triple read the documentation, the table above represents your earning per client. 

Yes! 5 cents (on band 1). Not many clients will go over 2,500 KW/h unless they have a huge house or are a business. So 10 cents max per client per month. 

You can also read from the table that someone, you have never met, known, heard of or knew existed 7 levels above you in the MLM will earn $1.50 for clients that you recruit - 30x what you do off the back of your hard work. 

From my calculation, and excuse my maths here - you would need to recruit 40,000 clients to generate $2,000 per month from the labor of your work.

Ambit energy is not a Pyramid Scheme. My reason for saying so is that I doubt very much that the Better Business Bureau would give fill accreditation and an A+ rating to a Pyramid Scheme. 

Plus the company is a member of the Direct Sellers Association. 

Also, the company does have a product, energy and gas, behind their opportunity so most certainly Ambit Energy is not a Pyramid Scheme.

Yes, Ambit Energy is a Multi Level Marketing business operating on what appears to be the unilevel compensation model paying commissions 7 levels deep. 

So, yes Ambit Energy is a MLM

In my opinion I really don't think that Ambit Energy is a scam. Their product and opportunity is genuine but it is not one that It is one that you should not be involved it. 

The product might be easy to sell but, the average income per client per month for commission's is horribly low.  

At the heart of it Ambit Energy is all about themselves, watching their promotional video about the company and the opportunity is all about the company...and how much money they make with very little to nothing about their distributors and their earnings. 

When you dig deep you find out why....all that hard work to sign up a client, to get them to switch to Ambit Energy your earning will be $0.60 cents/YEAR. 

It is not something that is worth your while or effort!.
