Is Team National A Scam! The Truth EXPOSED!

The question is in your mind already - Is Team National A Scam?. And you are right to raise questions about an MLM opportunity centred around selling discounts!. 

while I make no secret of my dislike for MLM's or any network marketing opportunities - really just not my cup of tea. Not my thing. I prefer things to be less complicated and more straight forward. 

Before I get down to detailing this opportunity, I congratulate you for being smart and checking out independent reviews by independent bloggers. 

This is how you find out the real truth about a product, avoid getting scammed and find a genuine way of making money online!.

While some reviews by others out there on the internet by others are a little biased due to the site owners being associated with the company in some way either as a distributor or something similar.

In short Team National is Multilevel network Marketing (MLM) company that promotes and sells memberships of a discount savings club run by themselves. They are long established having been founded in 1996 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

The business was founded by Mr Richard "Dick" Loehrs who lost his long battle against cancer in 2008. Some 2 years earlier he Appointed his Daughter Angela Loehr Chrysler as CEO to run the company in his absence. 

She has began working at Team National some 8 years earlier in the year 2000. 

The company are members of the a few respectable and established associations

• Direct Selling Association (DSA)
•  The United States Chamber of Commerce.
• Dun and Bradstreet (D&B)

Being in business for close on 25 years certainly adds to the credibility of Team National. Naturally speaking there are still some things to take into consideration before you think of jumping aboard.

As you have seen from the video above team national very much is centred around selling discounts, which to me is very much an obscure idea. Spend money to get a discount. 

Either way, there is a massive demand for this kind of product in our consumerist society. Personally, I think paying for a discount is kind of crazy, I just don't quite get this "spend money to save money" concept. 

Unless of course it is an absolute essential thing that I spend money on anyway like and internet connection, phone subscription. Nothing wrong with being frugal or thrifty!. 

Team National is able to obtain savings thanks to group purchasing power, buying direct from factory outlets and rebate programs. 

You can save on everyday expenses such as clothing, school supplies as well as one off purchases like house furniture. Given the Logo plastered across their website and the video above AT&T - phone bill/internet connection.  

It does seem to be very opinion based as the discounts obtained. Some sing their praises while others are "cussin' sweet nothings!". 

Group Purchasing Power

The concept of group buying and group purchasing power is very common in business and very straight forward. A large group a buyers represent a huge sales opportunity to and for a business owner and are thus able to negotiate a reduction in the given price. 

In this case Team National strikes deal with manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers to get those discounts for members. 

• Financial Services: Debt consolidation, mortgage and investment advice. 
• Car and Truck Rental. 
• Business Savings: POS, processing of credit and bank cards, gift cards check processing. 
• Health Benefit Plans: Eye care, hearing, dental chiropractic. 
• Travel
• Vehicles: parts and servicing, Motorcycles, ATV, watercraft, new & used cars.
• Insurance Services
• Team National Own Product Line: Skin care, Health Supplements, Autocare.
• Communication Services:- Satellite TV, Cable TV, Internet access, long distance phone calls.

I had a cheeky look around for discounts on the more expensive things on this list like some wheels!. But I did not see any discounts. I was pretty curious to see if I could negotiate an agreed price lower than the advertised price and then ask for my team national discount.

..Car salesmen rarely sell the vehicles at the given price..always room for negotiation or a few extras to be thrown in. It is the very nature of the industry. 

Online Shopping

As well as their famed discount cards Team national has their own brand and range of products form autocare to nutritionals. 

It is claimed that their own brand of products are half the price on average of similar related products. This is not something that I believe so much as deals can always be found if you shop around on eBay or amazon. 

And since they don't actually give any example I'll take that with a pinch of salt. 

They do have a good deal on personal websites at $12 per month or for $99 year. Which is not exactly comparable to this place that has 2 free websites alongside full training to help you set them up and start to make some money with them. 

At the Big N Marketplace members are able to, and in Team nationals words "earn a commission" on product that they buy. It is not really a commission, its a rebate!. There is a lack of clarity in regards to being able to earn a commission from other peoples sales

Lip service is given to their co-branded credit cards and financial services - no details are given in comparison to similarly available products so you can't really determine clearly if their services are better than another for example. 

Direct From The Factory

This is very much the furniture department of Team National which saves money by skipping the wholesalers and retailers and buys straight from the factory helping you to save up to 65% of the retail price. 

There product range here includes flooring, spas, furniture of both indoor and outdoor and saunas.

Again here there is a lack of clarity. 65% off compared to what?.

Being able to compare here would be handy because as a consumer in a consumerist society it would be very easy for you to see if you are making real saving and compare what is on offer with IKEA for example. 

 Team National Business Exchange

This one is for your local businesses in your own locality and requires those in your area to participate in the program for your to get a discount benefit from their products or services. 

Example provided by Team National included real estate, home maintenance, travel, insurance, personal care, and so on.  The services and offers will naturally vary from state to state and city to city. 

Those wishing to take part in the business opportunity side of are called Independent Marketing Directors or IMD for short.   

The Team National Compensation Plan is focused and centred around the sale of their discount membership opportunities. 

Commissions And Bonuses

An Independent Marketing Director has to sell at minimum 2 brand new memberships per year. Members that renew their annual subscriptions are not taken into consideration by Team National as part of that quota. 

It has to be 2 new sales per year. 

On the plus side a cancellation does not negatively effect an IMD's quota.

Can You Make Make Money With Team National?

Yes, making money with team national is possible. But, being real here, and there is a big difference between what is possible and reality. 

The odds are strongly, STRONGLY stacked against you in making team national work for you. The average income for team national members was just over $600. while almost 9/10 IMD's made no sales at all according to this report by Team National.

Hardly an astounding business opportunity if you ask me. 

Can You Save Money With Team National?

This something that is incredibly difficult to say because it is quite difficult to make a comparison because you are not really comparing like with like. 

If the average IMD is only making $600 a year I question the saving made. Besides, buying something you may not or don't really need is not saving money in real cash terms. 

If you spend $80 to get a $20 discount on a $100 product that you don't really need you spent $80 and did not "save" $20. 

Plain and simple!. 

Is Team National A Pyramid Scheme?

It very much looks like one.

A Multi Level Marketing product that has products behind it that are difficult to sell creates an eco-system of distributors recruiting other into the program in order to make up for a short fall in sales revenue.  

Eventually such eco-system becomes unsustainable with little product sales going on and the "pyramid" collapses in on itself. 

Is Team National A Scam?

Technically speaking it is not a scam because there is a legitimate business behind the opportunity that has a range of genuine products. 

Is Team National Legit?

Team National Is A Legitimate company and organisation that has been in existence for 25+ years!. 

Yes, Team national is legitimate. But you have much better opportunities!.

Team National BBB Rating

Something that I always do, regardless of the companies size or stature is to checkout their rating on the BBB Websites.

This gives us some kind of indication as how they conduct business and their attitude to consumers.

Team National is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau but hold an A+ rating. The company profile on BBB can be seen here. 

Despite an A+ rating on BBB and technically not being a scam and a legit opportunity I do not recommend Team National. 

They appear to have a difficult to sell product and over 90% of their distributors (called IMD's) earn less than $600 a year - barely even pocket money for a kid these days!.
