Global Test Market Review – A Total Waste Of Time? [REVIEW]

Global Test Market is yet another of the many online survey sites. The owners of this site is Lightspeed Research, who are a subsidiary of Global Markets Insite and are owned by the Kantar Group, who in turn are owned by WPP Plc who are a public company traded on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol of WPP. 

In Short, effectively speaking Global Test Market are backed and owned by a close on US$20Bn a year UK based advertising agency that has been in operation since 1971. 

As a business Global Test Market have been in operation since 1999, which would make them one of the longest running survey sites on the internet. 

They do have quite a variety of surveys available ranging from cars, to restaurants to movies to tourism to...just about everything you can think of!. 

They are in essence a market research company, the market research wing of London Based WPP Plc and conduct research in a variety of industries for 1400+ companies in 60 countries, rewarding over US$32 million to their participants.  

The database of users of Global Test Market is said to be in excess of 5.5M members from all corners of the globe. 

Some of the key features of this survey site are: 

• Completed surveys Give you 35-250 Points, expect 35 for most surveys. Unqualified surveys - 5 points. 
• You have the possibility of getting cash rewards and gift cards as an additional bonus for taking "Market Points" surveys.
• You can enter sweepstakes and monthly cash draws to get extra money.
• You can be paid by Paypal, check or gift card
• Minimum Payout is US$50
• Minimum Age To Participate in surveys is 14 years old. 
• Primary Markets for their surveys are Movies, Restaurants, consumer products and cars.
• Principle markets are Europe and North America.

The cost to their clients varies depending on which market they operate in, how many questions are asked, the number of completed surveys delivered to them, and the demographic and targeting of their audience.

Additional cost include designing the survey - made by the client or by Global Test Market themselves.

• For Global Test Market Participants/Users

As a participant in their surveys, your membership to Global Test Market is free. There is absolutely no cost at all for you to take part in their surveys. 

There are enough surveys on the site to cover the interests and hobbies of most people. Some of the surveys on offer cater to younger people aged 14+. 

Completing the surveys could earn you up to $5 per survey. 

If you are like I am, you are the kind of person that judges the legitimacy of a site or business based on how they are perceived by professional organisations and consumer groups like the Better Business Bureau. 

Unfortunately it was not easy to locate a listing for Global Test Market, there two different listing and it was not possible to tell which belonged to the site, if any. 

However I was able to find a listing by the parent company, Lightspeed LLC. 

Lightspeed LLC are not accredited by the BBB and hold an unacceptable C rating. 

There were an alarming number of complaints that I found on the complaints section of the BBB, although these complaints relate to the parent organisation and some were related to other sites.

It does appear that there is a certain commonality to all the sites run by this organisation, regardless of which site you are taking surveys on. 

Lightspeed, appears to shut down without good reason the accounts of active users. 

Global Test Market is, in my opinion better than many of the other survey sites that you see out there on the internet. 

Still, 

Despite being better than other does n't make them all that great, or good at all in my opinion. Being better or even the best in a method that earns you little money for what is a lot of work really is not what I'd call good.

Being the the best of a bad bunch, to coin a phrase doesn't make you good!. 

If surveys are your thing then certainly go ahead and try them, but there are better ways for your to earn from home than taking surveys.

For every survey that you take and complete you earn a predetermined number of Market points. When you reach 1,000 Markets Points you can exchange this of US$50. 

There is no skulduggery it really is that simple - take surveys, earn market points cash them out. 

The minimum pay out is US$50, which can take you some time and several surveys to achieve. You can opt to be paid by check or, more conveniently Paypal. The option of gift cards and e vouchers exists also.

Not a lot. Like other survey sites this is not a way for earning a lot of money in a short period of time. 

In my opinion, and from what I see and calculate you would find it difficult to earn even a part time income. The amount that you can earn is stated on the website as "Up To $5 per survey". Do keep in mind that this is likely to be for only the higher paying ones. 

Other review sites have calculated that your earnings fall in the US$2.00 per hour mark. I would estimate that in a month taking a lot of surveys you could earn US$50.

With more effort and if more of the higher paying ones are available this could rise to US$100.

There are some things that I did like about Global Test Market, let's talk about those for a moment. 

• Free To Join!

Always a good thing, free to join and free to start taking survey and earn money for that. 

• There Are A Lot Of Surveys. 

It is great to see a survey site that actually does deliver a HIGH amount of surveys, there really is no shortage of surveys here!. 

• Various Methods Of Cashing Out

It is always good to have choices. To get actual cash its check or Paypal. Or you can opt for Giftcards. 

• The Are The Market Leader

They are in my opinion the market leader when it comes to online surveys. If you can't or don't make some extra cash with these guys - you won't with anyone else. It is as simple as that!.

There is nothing that is completely perfect, everything has some down sides. These are what I did not like about Global Test Market. 

• Poorly Rated By The BBB

Not being accredited by the BBB is one thing, and can always be counter-balanced with a genuinely good product or service and a perfect A+ rating.  Not this company, they have an unacceptable and blow average C rating. 

...And when a concerned consumer advocacy organisation such as the Better Business Bureau contact a business and give an unacceptable response you know that the C rating might just be a bit generous!. 

• High Pay Out Threshold!

When it is notoriously difficult to work your way to the 1,000 point mark to get paid and pay is 35 point (usually) for a survey which works out at 29 surveys at 3 per hour is nearly 10 hours work to get $50. 

It is far too high a minimum payout threshold. 

• Takes A Long Time To Get Paid

Some people have reported that it takes as long as 4 to 6 weeks to receive their checks or Paypal payment. 

This is shocking!. Particularly when you consider that getting paid by a company to your Paypal account is usually instant. And when consider the site is effectively owned by a $2bn a year business this is outright disgusting!.

I am as honest as the day is long and a "straight down the line kind of guy". Yes you can make money with Global Test Market. 

There is no denying that, absolutely none at all. 

Despite that fact that you can make money by completing surveys with this company you have to calculate if it is worth your while. As I have pointed out most surveys are 35 points each and you need 1,000 points to cash out, which is $50. This can take up to 10 hours to get.

Is $50 for 10 hours work worth it? 

The you have to consider is it worth waiting 4-6 weeks to get your money? 

Of course you can make money, but is it worth it?.

Not in my opinion. 

Being straight and honest here, this company is NOT a scam. They are a legitimate business and do offer you a genuine way to earn by taking their surveys. 

The fact that you can earn very little for what is a lot of work doesn't make them a scam, slavery in the digital world maybe, but it does not make them a scam.

In my opinion and independent investigation Global Test Market are not a scam. These guys are market leaders, THE market leader when it comes to online surveys and still it is difficult to earn a substantial amount of money with online surveys. 

Instead of running around in circles chasing your tail looking for survey sites to make money from or worse still MLM's and trying to recruit people or holding parties trying to make sales. 

I strongly suggest that you have a look at how I earn a living online. No selling, no recruiting, no taking of surveys and has been working for me since 2015. 

Eventually it builds up a passive and sustainable income and business.
