High Ticket Affiliate Marketing System Debate – Yes Or No?

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing Systems

Yes or no!! Should you or should you not get involved with Promoting a High Ticket Affiliate Marketing System?

It is the question faced by at some point by all affiliate marketers. Over the past couple of years they seem to be trending and not only in the blogging, make money online or affiliate marketing sphere.

I've seen High Ticket Programs across a number of different niches including Fashion, beauty, Travel, Personal Development and a variety of other niches.

Let's clarify first What is a High Ticket Affiliate Marketing System.

What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing

Let's clarify exactly what High Ticket Affiliate Marketing is before we move any further.

My own view on this topic is very simple.

It involves the promotion of products, as your main to recommended product as an affiliate that has a value of greater than US$1,000 for physical products or services and can earn you a commission of at least US$200 per sale.

The sale of such physical products has the capability of earning a greater income than with fewer sales of physical products or services.

A fine example of high ticket sales of physical items could be the sale of an electric motor bike at US$1,500 and a typical 20% commission for the affiliate earning a US$300 sale.

As a service - lets take travel for example a reservation at a 5 star holiday resort all inclusive costing US$2,500 and earning you a 20% commission resulting in US$500 per sale.

Those are rather tasty commissions.

For digital products, I refer to High Ticket Affiliate Marketing as earning a commission in excess of US$1,000 per sale.

The very reason being is often commissions are elevated due to no physical product needing to be delivered or shipped.

Typically, a US$2,500 can earn you 40% commission and US$1,000 in your pocket for selling such items. These can be high end training programs or coaching or mentoring from very well respected coaches.

The upside is rather obvious - more money per sale made, the downside is you will generate fewer sales.

What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing System?

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing Systems are typically falling into the latter category of what I mentioned above and more specifically related to learning affiliate marketing.

Typically, these High Ticket Affiliate Marketing Systems like:

To name a few.

More often than not these high ticket affiliate marketing systems are "ready made" and done for you with all the sales material and sales funnel already primed and highly optimised for conversions.

There is also training on how to best promote their system or program to help you to get maximum results. This training is predominantely focused around paid traffic from sources like Facebook, Google Adwords and Bing.

It is very rare for high ticket affiliate marketing systems to teach you how to drive free organic traffic to your sales funnel - this is a huge drawback when you are seeking to maximise your bottom line and profits.

I will add it is a bit a ying-yang thing going on organic traffic is great,

but

it is a long journey, you need to belt in and strap up. Organic traffic, especially passive organic traffic from SEO, which can take 3, 6 and maybe even as long as 9 months to see.

This why there is a lot of work with any system low ticket or high ticket system to begin with as naturally with high ticket items you want a ROI quickly on you investment after shelling out so much so you go for paid traffic....

...at the same time you are building up your site and presence to "earn" free search based traffic, which will typically reduce your advertising expenditure in the long term.

High Ticket Vs Low Ticket Affiliate Programs

There is quite the debate across a number of different sites and niches as to which is best to promote, High Ticket or Low Ticket Affiliate Programs?

I'll give you the correct and most definitive answer regarding ANY and all niches. It is really simple!.

It fully depends on your niche and who your site it targeted towards.

I'll clarify, if you are running a budget travel site or one aimed at backpackers and you all of sudden start promoting 10 day stays at the Sands resort or the Hilton, you are not going to get many booking or commissions - if any at all!.

However,

If you are running a travel niche site targeted towards luxury travel, honeymoon's then yes, you will get reservations.

The exact same can be said for high ticket affiliate marketing systems - if you are targeting stony broke college kids or struggling single mom's then chances are your audience is not going to be able to afford the US$2,500 fee for Legendary Marketer - they might even struggle to scrape the US$49 per month for Wealthy Affiliate for example.

But,

If you are targeting well to do middle class university graduates seeking to ditch the humdrum of the 9-5 "gulag capitalism" then quite likely you will get sales.

It is all about being congruent with your audience.

The Case Against High Ticket Affiliate Marketing

Some people have particular love for high ticket affiliate marketing, others, well, it is just not their thing and have a rather large dislike for it.

Nobody is right and more importantly nobody is wrong either. Everyone's opinion has to be respected equally.

The case against High Ticket Affiliate Marketing is usually around the ability to generate a larger volume of sales being better than shifting fewer of a more expensive item.

There is a lot of logic to this theory and strategy as put forward by many experienced marketers.

This blogger here explains rather brilliantly the case against high ticket affiliate marketing and why low ticket sales are much better and easier.

The Case For High Ticket Affiliate Marketing

The benefit of high ticket affiliate marketing is.....

....not about the commission!.

The large commissions are nice and it is cool to wake up to US$1,000 commissions but if you make it about the money you won't sell much - you will just come across like all of those money hungry scammers that I have reviewed all too often on this site - regardless of how fab or brilliant or authentic the actual product is, be it a digital product or physical product.

You will come across as wanting the money more than actually helping your audience.

If you don't provide value to the end buyer, your audience they won't buy it - even if they are Hollywood rich and flush with cash!.

There is an excellent saying in this industry which goes something like this...

"Don't sell the mattress, sell the peaceful, restful night's sleep"

It is about the benefits.

This post here, a lovely lady blogger blogger explains her opinion on the matter rather beautifully and eloquently.

Are High Ticket Items More Difficult To Sell?

This is something that starts and ends with your audience as I explained earlier,

if your site and niche is aimed towards those looking for affordable dress watches for under US$200 you will have a hard time selling a US$30,000 Rolex to them.

If you are going down the road of high ticket sales, start with this in mind when you are starting your affiliate marketing site. Keep it in mind who your audience are and what their spending habits are.

I had a friend who tried out a US$49/month affiliate marketing training program only to fall flat on his face spent US$5,000 on an inferior training (in my opinion) and be happy with it.

Sure my friend is rather well off and rich - the latter product was of greater value to him as he simply perceived as being better and got more value despite spending 100x the price!.

Being able to sell, be it a low ticket item or a high ticket item is all about knowing your audience.

When you have the right audience selling high ticket products is just as easy as selling low ticket products.

It is just as easy to sell a Ferrari to a billionaire as it is a Ford to a working man. Mix those two up and you won't be selling any cars!.

How To Find Lucrative Affiliate Programs

Finding Lucrative affiliate programs is not as difficult as it may first seem. Firstly for expensive items, don't rule out amazon US$1,500 product on amazon will likely earn you a US$60 commission depending on the product and category.

Also keep it in mind that amazon because of their trust factor convert typically twice as good as other independent affiliate programs, also, you will earn a commission on all the items that get bought and not just the US$1,500 item you sold.

And...a buyers cookie gets dropped into your clients browser meaning you will get credited for any purchases they make in the next 89 days on amazon.

High Ticket Affiliate Marketing System - The Final Conclusion

Whether you cho0se to sell high, low or middle ticket affiliate marketing products fully depends on how you have set up your affiliate business to begin with as you want to get the right product to the right person.

It is all about helping your audience and giving them value and letting the product sell for themselves, as long as you are helping people, and better still solving a problem they are having and have the right products for your audience you will have no problem in selling high ticket items (or low ticket).

With high ticket sales, a great long term investment in your business is learning SEO as often this is not taught in High Ticket Affiliate Marketing Systems.

Don't forget either if you are focusing on low ticket items to invest in learning how to drive paid traffic to your site as this will accelerate your success while you are waiting for the SEO and organic traffic to kick in.

In both cases you will end up making more sales and helping your online business.
