UserCrowd Review – Scam Or Legit?

I bet you landed on this site due to your own curiosity and wondering if you really can get paid to test websites and give your own honest feedback on them? 

Maybe, 

Your curiosity made that little questions "Is UserCrowd A Scam?" pop in to your mind - after all getting paid to check out website does sound like something that is way out there and maybe a little "woo wooo". 

I'll start by telling you straight up  UserCrowd is not a scam and user testing is a real thing - there are quite a few sites offering this kind of work online, I'll mention some of them in this article if you wish to try others.

Since you already know that UserCrowd is Legit, let's get on with detailing their platform, who they are, how they work and what exactly you are required to earn money and how you get that moolah in your hands!

UserCrowd (UserCrowd.com), founded in 2015 and formerly known as Usability Hub which was founded back in 2008. They are Headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. 

They are a user testing website that will you for giving honest feedback based on your own user experience and opinion regarding a variety of website and apps. 

The process of giving your feedback is dependent on you filling out a survey and answering all the questions that are asked, which, depending on your point of view and opinion would also make them a survey site also. 

Let's not talk about how they work and their earning potential

UserCrowd.com as a business generate revenue from their client base of website owners who more than anything want feedback on the design of their site from their target market and audience. 

This is achieved by giving you, if you meet the target audience for the website owner, a design surveys to respond to and answer after viewing their site for up to one minute. 

You will also be given quick design surveys to answer reporting your opinion and thoughts for logos and picking which one you think is the best design and telling them why you think it is the best one. 

They are a bit more than a testing platform and usability testing due to that design element which is nice addition as the site design of a website is a very important and critical element which can mean the difference to getting some sales and getting a lot of sales.

Now you know just how important website design is, I hope that when you take part in their testing opportunities you give good honest feedback relating to that.

Who Is UserCrowd For?

UserCrowd is an international opportunity open to anyone over the age of 18 years old who have access to a PayPal account to get paid. 

The only restrictions in place are being at least 18 years old and PayPal being available in your country. 

To register yourself as a tester and get started testing websites first click the blue "Sign Up" button on the top right of the screen or the "Become A Tester Now". button in the centre of your screen. 

This will take you to a very simple registration form where you need to enter your details.

You will be required to inform them of your availability and which days you can take paid test on their sites.

You will be sent an sms confirmation code as part of your registration process. 

There is only one unique way for you to earn extra cash with this site and this by taking and completing UserTests on their platform. 

In a sense and by many they have been compared to a survey site due to having to complete short surveys about the simple tests that you take. 

One of the good things is there is nothing difficult or complicated that you need to do as part of your testing service. 

When you signup to be a tester, when you log in to their website you will be able to see the available tests that you can take. They will also notify you by email when this testing platform has UserTests for you to take. 

Quite often these are on a first come first serve basis.  

When you find available tests and start testing websites, similar to a survey site, you will be asked a few questions afterwards about their products or services and asked by you answered in they way in which you did. 

That is most important part of the test, to explain your answer, so be as detailed as you can as your answers will be reviewed and the last thing you want is your work disqualified as you skipped or skimped on this part and have to look else where to earn a little extra money.

That is all there is to it. Take their usability test, answer their survey as best as you can, explain why you answered in such a way and then submit your UserTest for review and wait for then to accept your work and then get paid your dues.

With Usability Testing websites, and paid survey sites alike how much you can earn depends on how active you are and how many paid test that become available for you to take. 

The more active you are, the more you can earn and thus trading time for money. One thing I can tell you for sure is that you will not be able to earn a full time income by taking these short tests. 

My own estimation is that you take enough tests you may be able to earn US$10 per month. Unfortunately the tests here do not pay all that well, between 10 and 50 cents per test. 

Although very poorly paid they short and don't take all that much of your time to complete. 

The minimum payout amount is US$10.

There is only one way in which you can get paid by UserCrowd and that is by PayPal. You must reach a minimum of US$10 in order to request payment. 

There is no other payment method available, not gift cards, no check, no Payoneer, nothing. Still it is an extra income and is paid in cash just for answering Quick Questions about a a website you seen for 60 second or so. 

While I can absolutely confirm that you can earn extra cash with this site and if there are enough paid tests available I have unfortunately not been able to find any income proof anywhere online. 

I checked all the usual places including Reddit, Beer money forum, various popular social media groups and not single hint of any proof at all.

I suspect that this is due to the earning potential being low and this low payouts not attracting many (or any) people willing to post income proof of US$10 or so. 

I encourage you to be on the ball and proactive when it comes down to ensuring your internet safety. I can only go so far as providing an open, honest and accurate review of an opportunity. 

You need to go a bit deeper and do some background checks. I got the ball rolling, as I do like clockwork and for every review I make, that is by checking the Better Business Bureau for a listing and seeing how they are rated there. 

Unfortunately I could not find a listing for them at all on the BBB database which makes their status as unlisted, unaccredited and not rated. 

I would not take that status as too harsh or read much into it as they are an Australian company and not subject to the BBB and their rules and regulations.

This, though, in my own opinion is a rather grey area as they are trading in the US, possibly user testing US based websites and apps and employing US Residents. 

There are a lot of things that I like about this Opportunity, here are the main things that I liked: 

• It is a reliable platform. 
• All of their surveys are easy most are multiple choice questions.
• There are enough tests currently available to do this on a daily basis. 
• The majority of the test take very little time to complete and is easy money. 
• You get paid by PayPal.

There are something that I did not like about this opportunity, which were: 

• It is only a side hustle income
• There is no full time income opportunities here. 
• The downside is some days test availability is low. 
• No other way of getting paid or earning money other than website testing.

Yes, 

Website testing and earning money with UserCrowd is legitimate and very possible with this platform.

All of the test that you will get from them are quick and easy to take but be aware that pay is on the low side and will not pay you so much like 10 cents to 50 cents per test. 

Ultimately on a monthly basis your earning are not going to be so great. 

I can with complete confidence tell you now as I did in the beginning that usercrowd is not a scam. 

It might sound like a fictitious opportunity getting paid for website testing but the absolute truth is that you can and these guys are only one such site that will pay you or testing websites. 

You can put your mind at rest as Usercrowd is legitimate. 

Usercrowd, formerly known as UsabilityHub offer a legitimate way for you to earn money from the comfort of your home testing out websites for a short amount of time and answering questions on them. 

High Test Availability and giving good feedback is all that it really takes for you earn with this platform. 

Income as I have mentioned is low due to payout only being 10 cents to 50 cents per test. To earn a full time income you will need to be looking at something else and something more substantial.
