While the company is Based in Canada, the majority of their Freelance transcriptionists are based in North America.

When you get started with AccuTran your status with the company will be that of a freelance independent contractor and not employed directly with the company. 

There are various jobs available with AccuTrans, let's detail those jobs and what you will be required to do. 

• Transcriptionist

As a a transcriptionist you are required to listen to short audio files and transcribe them using specialist transciption software. A Transcription headset and foot pedal will be required. 

• Transcription Reviewer

As a transcription reviewer you are responsible for converting the raw transcribed copy by the transcriber into a proper and professionally formatted document and correct any errors that you find. 

• Editors

As an editor you are required to read the raw transcribed document, perform more detailed and extensive checks as well as perform any required research and make the necessary corrections, if any. 

• Proof Readers

As a proof reader you will perform a third and final quality check and catch any errors that the Editors and reviewers may have missed and make the needed corrections. 

• Scopist

As a Scopist, you will be required to perform real real time voice written copy while listening to the audio file to spot errors. 

AccuTran Global Services

AccuTran Global offer the service of stenography or Voice writing, real time captioning, and scoping for the financial, legal and medical industries. 

Transcription services are provided for meetings, messages, focus groups, press conferences and conference calls and more. 

Neccessary Requirements

One of the plus points with AccuTran Global is the fact that no experience is required or completely necessary.

If you have never worked as a transcriber you might be in with a chance of freelancing with this company.

There are other requirements though, more specifically the ability to type at least 70 WPM - Words per minute. 

Mostly, though you will be assessed on how you perform on their set of tests. 

Qualities that they are looking for in their applicants include:

• Dominance of the English Language, written, listening, spelling, punctuation and grammar are looked at. 
• Good Research Skills
• The ability to communicate well and follow instructions. 

All applicants must have a computer - desktop or laptop that works with Windows 10 OS and at least 4GB Ram.  

If You don't have a Windows laptop or desktop computer an Apple Mac that runs Parallels is sufficient. 

When your application is successful you will be provided with transcription software. You will be expected to have your own high quality headphones. 

If your application is successful I strongly suggest you use headphones and a transcriber foot pedal for better and quicker functionality of the audio file, pause, play making your work life easier and more productive.

How Much Do They Pay?

As expected the rate of pay is based on the number of words, but like TranscribeMe they pay can be the length of audio file. 

The rate of pay per word is as follows. 

• Basic audio: US$0.004 Per Word 
• More Demanding Audio: US$0.055 Per Word

When the company opts to pay per minute of audio file the set rate of pay is US$0.40 per minute of audio.

There are bonus payments for audios that are more technical in their nature and require specific knowledge of the related vocabulary and for audios that have difficult to understand strong accent speakers. 

You will be paid directly to your bank in America or Canada on the 15th of every month for the jobs that you have completed for the previous month.

Due to being limited to being paid to an American or Canadian bank account for payment this limits you to either being an citizen fo those countries, residing there, or previously residing in those two countries and having a bank account.

If you are smart, you can set up an account with Payoneer, which is totally free. They will set you up with a clearance account in America and you are good to go.

Payoneer are a popular payment processor similar to Paypal but are mostly used by eCommerce and drop shippers.

AccuTran Transcriber Work Period

Work with this company has a tendency to be very seasonal with occasional work available outside of the peak seasons which are as follows:

• January 20-March 15
• April 20- May 20
• July 20 August 20
• October 20- November 20

This actually covers a good 5 months of the year. Outside of those periods you can always work with other Transcription companies. 

During the peak seasons it is required that you are available during certain hours of the day which is 4am to 2 pm and 4pm to 7:30 Pm, Pacific Time. You must allocate at least 3 hours during those time frames. 

This, if you are freelancing and travelling at the same time or based else where in the world might work out to be pretty good hours. 

Applying To Work With AccuTran Global

Applying for a job with this company is very simple, just head on over to their home page here. 

Look for the blue coloured "apply for work" then follow the subsequent instructions, read what they are looking for and the expected requirements. 

If you think that you meet those expectations then proceed with your application. You will undergo a few tests which will test you for: 

• Spelling
• Grammar
• Punctuation
•  Typing Speed
• Transcription ability

When all parts of your application are completed, attach it to an email and send to jobs@Accutransglobal.com and have the subject titled as "Transcription Testing".

I always check as to how a company and business is rated by the Better Business Bureau. This gives me an indication of how well a company performs in relation to their users, their consumers. 

Unfortunately there is no listing for AccuTran Global on the BBB website. 

I think it is fair to say that by default they are unaccredited and hold the NR status of Not Rated.

Rather surprisingly, and this is actually pretty rare, I found that there were literally no complaints about AccuTran Global. 

having been in business since the turn of the millennium I did expect to find something somewhere from either side of their business be it an unhappy client or a disgruntled freelancer. 

The cons in the screenshots (taken from Glassdoor) below are worth reading, as are the positives to give you an idea of your potential employer and how they operate. 

There is, in my opinion absolutely no doubt about it. 

AccuTran Global is completely legit company and business. They have been in operation since 2002 which is an incredibly long time and have a great record of providing quality service to their clients. 

It also appears that their employees are very happy to work with the company. 

Personally I do think AccuTran Global could solidify their reputation and legitimacy further by becoming fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau and Achieving a high rating with them.  

There is a lot to like about AccuTran Global. Time to talk about those. 

• Well Established

generally speaking a long established company is a very good sign. As a Freelancer you can literally bank on there being regular work and for prolonged periods of time. 

• Well Respected By Current Employees

When current employees speak well about a company you can generally expect them to be pleasant to work with. 

• Potential For Regular Work

As Freelancer this is what you are looking for, good solid steady income. 

• You Can Work From Home

An obvious fantastic benefit! work from the comfort of your home. I cannot think of a better place to work!.

• Potential For Promotion

If you perform well on current tasks, you have the possibility of rising the ranks and being given better paying freelance opportunities. 

Nothing is ever perfect or completely perfect. That is just not possible. There were somethings that I did not like about AccuTran Global. 

• Not Rated Or Accredited by The BBB

This something that I always like to see, unfortunately there is no listing for this company at all with the BBB.

• Work Is Only Seasonal

While we all love regular work all year round, this company only offer seasonal work which covers 5 months of the year. 

• Low pay 

The rate of pay works out at US$4 to US$5.50 per 1,000 words transcribed is terribly low. 

If you can write/transcribe quickly and/or come from a country that is not so expensive to live in this might work out as reasonable pay. 

There is no doubt about the fact that you can make money with AccuTran Global.

The Opportunity here is as a freelance transcriptionist, if you manage to get a job with them as an independent contractor you will be paid for your efforts. 

AccuTran Global Is a not a scam. 

The company is long established, dating way back to 2002 and is well respected by both their clients and employees. 

They are a service based business that provides a high quality service to their clients. Absolutely not a scam. 

AccuTran Global does appear to be a very good opportunity for you to get good gainful employment from the comfort of your home. 

Given the very seasonal nature of their business you will need to fill out those blank 7 months with something else or work with other transcription companies. 

Working from home while good and fun to do, between your "down time" and between transcription jobs you can seek out to build up your own passive income source which would certainly help you out outside of the peak season. 

Building a passive income source is not actually that difficult to do. In fact it is pretty easy!.

If I can do it you can too!.

I have no background in IT or techie stuff, no business background or in marketing for that matter.
