With a database containing over 90 Million registered workers and 450,000 employers makes them one of most prolific and saught after recruitment agencies in America.

Snagajob works by connecting with a number of companies and permitting them to seek and ask for extra employees during busy periods and when they need them. 

For an employee, Snagajob can match your preferred availability with the requirements of their clients, and when you have match - you will get an invitation to go and work your shift.  

A prospective employer pays a fee to Snagajob to publish their job post on their website.

You as a job seeker have no fee at all to pay, join and use the site to look for a job. If you find something that you like, you can apply for the job. 

Your online profile and details, are available for employers to search and offer you a job.

When you join, do put some thought into it and have a professionally taken photo and run a grammar check using Grammarly (free!).

Make sure you keep it updated and as accurate as possible. 

Pro Tip: Quite often employment agencies, when you update your profile it gets bumped up to the top of internal search engine and makes your profile appear at the top of relevant searches by employers.

That tip above worked awesome for me with a few sites, particularly the ESL sites I used when I used to live in Thailand.

While Snagajob is free for you to use, it is not free for employers. To find their employees and fill their vacancies the employers are required to pay snagjobs for advertising their jobs on their site.

• Three Job Posts US$375 per month

Once the job advertisement is published snagajob notifies job seekers on their database by email and/or push notification that there is a new job available in their area that may be suitable for them. 

When a job seeker applies for the job, the job application details are sent to the employer to select their most suitable employees for the job. 

The employer is then free to set up an interview. 

Being the kind of persona that I am I always have a look at how a business is viewed by consumer associations and organisations. 

It gives me an indication of how much a company can be trusted and how professional they are in conducting business. 

I am rather concerned that Snagajob are not accredited by the better business bureau and hold a very unacceptable D rating. 

It appears that there are complaints from both sides of their business, job seekers and employers. 

Employers seem to have a difficulty with what appears to be a poor service and cancelling of their accounts. 

Job seekers appear to have a problem with their data and personal information being sent to 3rd party organisations without permission.

Snagajob is not free of employers. The fees charged for using their service and helping to fill your available position is on a per job ad basis and is billed on a monthly basis as follows:

• Three Job Posts US$375 per month

It means exactly as it sounds. 

With a single click you can apply for a job. On Snagajob your profile functions as your job application also. So a single click and you can send an application to an unlimited number of jobs.

This is obviously a great thing for job seekers. I'd be rather concerned if an employment agency was lacking jobs.

Many Of The Jobs Are Expired

Unfortunately alongside the current job listings there and many outdated jobs listed also. It appears that this company does not remove older listings. 

Your Data Is Sold To 3rd Party Companies

Another case of Survelience Capitalism where your data has value and it gets sent to 3rd party organisations without your knowledge and permission.

Overcrowded System Of Job Seekers

The sheer volume of and ratio of job seekers to jobs means that there is an overload of applicants and thus a possible difficulty in landing a job. 

This is not a money making opportunity, it is an employment agency. If you get a job you can end up earning a living, it is fair to say!. 

In my opinion snagajob.com is not a scam. 

The word, scam conjures up a meaning of illegal activity. I have not found any illegal activity that snagajob is involved with. Thus, I cannot fairly nor honestly say they are a scam. 

They are a legitimate employment agency, established 20+ years ago!. 

Snagajob appears to be a legitimate employment agency where you can find jobs of all types in all sectors and from businesses of all sizes from big to small. 

I am 100% confident of Snagajobs being a legitimate and safe employment agency.
