Validately Review – Get Paid To Test Websites Scam Or Legit? [Updated]

Validately is market research company that was founded in New York in 2013 by two Entrepreneurs, Mark Bathie & Steven Cohn, with Gary Benitt of Venture Capital Firm Social Leverage as a board member. 

The aim of Validtely as a business is to take the complexity out of market research and make it easier are more streamlined for their clients to get the data or feedback that they require. 

Comparing the old way (above) to the new way below. 

For a website or App to be successful it has to have a good user experience and be pretty flawless. 

While it is difficult for programmers, or a team of programmers and Q.A team to spot every single error that an app or website has or an in house team to give a truly unbiased opinion on their experience. 

That is where you come in with your opinion and expert eye. There is nothing complicated at all. All you have to do is share your experience of a website or app and get paid for doing so. 

Validately, then take that information gathered from you and other testers, collate it and forward it to the owners of the website or app and they can then see what is working, what is not and what needs improving and so on based on the feedback given. 

Joining Validately is easy peasy lemon squeezy!. All you need is to do is create an account with them using your email address and create a password. 

You can even sign up directly using your Facebook account if you wish. You will need a Paypal so that you can get paid. 

From here on in all you need to do is complete the application process which is filling out your profile and answer the given questions which are very demographic based: 

• Location
• Age
• Education
• Household Income
• Details About The Device You Are Using.

Once your profile is complete you will need to take a screen test, which is simply to test your equipment and internet speed. 

The Screen Test

The Screen Test is way of the company pre-qualifying you and assessing your actual ability to do the job that is required of you. 

The following equipment is required:

1. Must use Chrome Browser latest version, no other browser is allowed.
2. Must Use At Least Windows 7 Or Latest iOS if using apple device
3. Make sure all your equipment is ready to be used, webcam, microphone and headphone. 
4. Respond audibly and clearly by speaking aloud 
5. Respond to each question 
6. You must record your screen test in a quiet environment with no TV, radio or anything audible in the background.

The team and Validately will then review your screen test and make a decision on your application. Once they accept - Congratulations...you have the job!. 

And from what I have discovered - not many get rejected. 

Being a tester at Validately you need to have the right equipment. Thankfully nothing fancy or high tech is required. Juts have a laptop or regular computer that uses windows 7 or the latest windows OS. An Apple running on the latest iOS. 

Other requirements that you will need to meet are:

• Be 18+ Years Old Minimum
• Ability to speak English fluently (note native is not a must).
• Paypal account - to get paid
• Have a High Speed Internet connection. Min Speed requirement is not stated

That is it. I think most people meet those requirements rather easily. 

The rate of pay at Validately is actually pretty good a 5 minute short session which requires you to speak out clearly can pull in $5-$10 while a more detailed 30 minute webcam based session can earn you a sweet $25. 

That is actually pretty good as far as user testing sites go. 

How Does Validately Pay You?

Rather conveniently the company pays you direct to your Paypal account. A huge plus in my opinion. The down side is if you don't have a Paypal you are stuck as there is no other way of getting paid. 

You get paid every 7 days. There is no min pay out, which is good!.

Validately is not rated nor listed on the Better Business Bureau website. 

Thus, I can only say that it holds a NR status of being not rated. 

In lieu of this, I checked out the company on Glassdoor. They are well respected and rated by current and former employees who give it a perfect 5 stars

There were no real complaints worthy of note that I could find. I find this to be a good thing considering we are talking about a $1m/year business and one that has been in operation since 2013.

The one con here is not really much of a drawback...just roll with them punches!.

• Good Pay - No Min Payout!

This always a good thing the ability to earn $5-$10 for for very little work other than vocally reviewing a site or app is great - $25 for half an hours work for reviewing one with a webscam is pretty awesome. 

This is not a good thing - It's an awesome thing!. 

• It's A Very Easy Job To Do!.

There is absolutely nothing difficult about being a user tester at validately. Super simple jut review the site or app and give feedback. 

While there are good things about the company nothing is perfect, let's balance this out by talking about a few not so good things!. 

• Limited Payment Options

You can only be paid by one means - Paypal, other options such as bank transfer or gift card or check are not available. 

• The Pie Is Not Big Enough!

The ability to earn $25 form 30 mins work sounds pretty amazing and it would be if you had say 4/5/6 jobs per day to complete - which would be pretty amazing. 

Sadly you are lucky to get 1 of those per week meaning you are not really going to be earning much more than beer money with this!. 

In all honesty - yes you can! 

But it is most likely that you will be able to earn beer money only at best given the lack of work available!. 

Thankfully there are better options available that can and will produce a more sustainable and regular income. 

There are a lack of tests to go round all its users and the availability of work is limited. 

This by no way means that it is a scam. Completely Legit, genuine opportunity and job with a company that has been established since 2013

 Validately, I wish had either fewer testers or a lot more work. As a user testing is a very easy job that anyone can do given that they meet the requirements it is sad that there is not enough work to make this a full time job!.
