What Are The Application Requirements?

The requirements to work with eTranscription Solutions is very straight forward and what would be expected of a transcription Agency. 

• You must be able to type at a speed of 80 Word Per Minute Or Faster. 

• Be experienced transcribing files with multiple speakers. 

• Be experienced in transcribing focus groups, financial press releases and quarterly earnings reports. 

• Provide a resume with checkable references with experience in transcription work. (The references will be checked). 

• Must Have excellent English Language Skills including grammar, punctuation and spelling. 

• Must Have reasonably good technological and internet research skills. 

• Able to achieve and meet their deadlines. 

• Able to use a foot pedal.

The use of specialist transcription software or a grammar checker is not mentioned. These will be advantageous in helping you to be more efficient. 

If you cannot meet their requirements for any reason, you can consider Online Bookkeeping, Being a Virtual Assistant, Proofreading or Teaching English Online.

Which is a generic contact form on their contact us page. There are no further details in regards to their application process, no email address to send your resume or cover letter to. 

I suspect if they reply to your contact form request for more information, you will be given further information regarding their application process and an official contact email address to forward your resume to.

I suspect at some point the applicants that catch their interest will have to take a transcription test to prove their abilities. 

It is disappointing that details are scarce!.

If your application is successful, your status with them is as an independent contractor. 

I expect that you will be able to set your own working hours and days as well as being free to take on the projects that suits you. 

As an independent contractor, effectively they will be your client. You will not be classified as an employee. 

There is no indication as to the rate of pay or the method used to calculate your earnings for the work undertaken. 

I searched on independent sites like Flexjobs, glass door and indeed.com, still there is no information available regarding the rate of pay.  

There is no information about this rather important point either, which is very disappointing and very unprofessional in my opinion. 

There is no information stating that you must be a US citizen, native speaker or residing in the US to work with this company. 

I will happily assume that they are hiring worldwide until otherwise stated. 

I encourage you to be vigilant for every work at home opportunity that comes your way and do some background checks. 

One place of checking is the Better Business Bureau Website.

The BBB might not be everyone's cup of tea. I beg to differ as you can get a lot of information from both what is displayed on their profile and what is not. 

For example, being in business since 1998 and not registering with or seeking accreditation with the Better Business Bureau for me shows a lack of seriousness and professionalism in regards to their own business. 

...yes, you guessed it, eTranscription Solutions are not listed on the BBB database at all. Their status by default is unaccredited and not rated.

There are some things that I did like about eTranscription solutions, which were.

• They are long established company going back to 1998. 
• The appear to have a professional approach. 
• They are a real business and do exist. 
• Free to apply. 
• Worldwide opportunity.

There are some things that I did not like about eTranscription Solutions which were: 

• No listing at all on the Better Business Bureau. 
• The appear to be very unprofessional in regards to assessing transcription tests promptly. 
• No information regarding rates of pay at all, or method of payment.

eTranscription solutions do appear to be a legitimate business but I am far from convinced that you can make any money worthy of note with them. 

My reason for stating this is a very ghostly presence online. Very!. 

The lack of stating a salary or rate of pay is not convincing me either that there is a lot of work coming in.

eTranscription Solutions may not be scam and a legitimate business, of which I am convinced they are a legitimate business, just I get the impression that just enough work comes in for the owners to make a living and work will be outsourced if it gets too much for them or if they wish to manage time off. 

They are a very small time agency - and not a scam!. 

I definitely and absolutely suggest that you completely forget all about eTranscription Solutions all together. Their lack of professionalism and attitude to their own business just does not convince me at all. 

This company is simply a group of lovely ladies who have their own regular clients and are ticking over nicely in that fashion. 

Their website is just to show to their clients and help them to get a little bit more work that comes in and nothing else. 

Any jobs that go to freelancers or independent contractors is merely to ease their own workload. 

Legitimate company and business, just not a lot of work here for you.
