OneOpinion Review – Yet Another Survey Scam? [Updated]

Getting paid for your thoughts and opinions might seem like great way to make money and taking surveys - well, let's face it there is hardly anything easier in world than that!!. 

But can you really make money with OneOpinion or is it a big fat scam?

OneOpinion, founded in 2007, is an online community owned by market research firm Critical Mix, who are a subsidiary of Dynata, an online data collection and sampling company.

You have the opportunity with OneOpinion to make some extra money by sharing your own thoughts, opinions and experiences about a whole range of products and services.

Their current target market is UK, USA, Canada, Italy, Australia, France, the Netherlands and Germany!.

There are literally dozens of survey survey sites online like:

• Survey Voices
• Survey Junkie
• Quick Thoughts
• Pinecone Research
• Part Survey Review
• Opinion Outpost
• iPoll

Sadly, none of them are going to help you to earn an income of any note at all, not something that you are going to notice.

On average the earnings for survey sites are  US$30 to US$60 per month for to 4 hours work filling out surveys.

Your time is far better spent learning the skills that you need to succeed online and build up an income which, with time will eventually become a passive income allowing you more time and freedom to enjoy your life.

OneOpinion and their business model is very easy to understand. It is very straight forward and totally legal and legit!. 

The site is owned by a market research and data collection company - and a pretty huge one at that!. 

The owners get paid by brands, businesses and product owners to collect data from the public in regards to their products and services. 

The data is then collected (from you) and you, for your important role in the whole process get paid for your thought and opinion in regards to a company's products and services. 

The data then gets collated, processed and analysed. 

From that data the individual product owners, businesses and brands can  then improve their services and products, gaining an edge over their rivals. 

Who Is OneOpinion For?

One opinion is predominantly used by two particular groups of users - what I call front end and back end users.

Back end users are the companies and businesses that need the opinion from their target audience to gather market intelligence. 

The front end users are lovely every day folks like you and I that are seeking to earn much needed extra cash from home. 

Getting Started With One Opinion

Getting started with One Opinion is very easy and can be done in a couple of minutes.  all you need to do is join and sign up is to create an account using your email address and creating a password. 

Then check your email account and verify your email address. Once you have verified your email, you can start taking part in their surveys and enjoy their site. 

just one thing to note, to join and take part you must be at least 13 years old and residing in US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands and Germany.

Making Money With OneOpinion

There are currently only two ways that you can make money with this site. Let's detail those. 

Taking And Completing Surveys

The surveys here are quite varied as they offer teen surveys, mobile surveys as well as regular surveys. 

The surveys take anything from 5 minutes to half an hour. The longer and more detailed the survey is the more you will be rewarded, rewards tend to be in the US$1 to US$5 range. 

On occasions - with emphasis on that last word, you will find US$15 surveys. 

Product Testing

This part sounds pretty awesome!. 

You get paid to test products that are not yet available to the general public. This is fairly similar to Opinion Outpost and Pinecone research in this aspect. 

There is nothing complex or complicated. You get the product, test it out for a few weeks and fill out a survey detailing your experience with it. More often than not you get to keep the product. 

Sometimes, in rare cases you are obliged to return products. 

If product testing is something that appeals to you, sites like, ScreenWise User Testing, and Validately - mostly these sites will pay you for testing apps and or spotting errors on their websites and giving feedback.  

 How Do You Get Paid By OneOpinion?

OneOpinion has three ways of getting your money to you. The first way is the good fashioned and much loved Paypal. The other ways are by using a Visa prepaid card and gift cards. 

The visa prepay method takes 7 days to process, which, if it is beautiful, soft luscious money that you are after that is around the same time that it take for money to transfer from Paypal to your actual bank account. 

Although, you can use your Paypal balance straight away to buy stuff online or pay for your netflix subscription and so on.

Inside OneOpinion they use their own currency - based on points. Currently 1,000 points is worth US$1.00. You need to reach 25,000 points - US$25 before you can be paid.

OneOpinion Support System

One that usual and rather great thing thing about OneOpinion is their have a support system in place - which is something I have never seen in the dozens and dozens of survey sites that I have reviewed. 

If you are experiencing some problems, technical glitches or just don't quite understand how the whole thing works you can contact the support in a number of ways including: 

• Sending a message on Facebook
• Sending an email
• Use The OneOpinion Virtual Assistant!
• Call them toll free (24/7!).

Very professional, and I am very impressed with this facility!.

One of the best things about One Opinion is their support system.

Evidently this is not going to be a solid and reliable way of making money on a sustainable basis.

A habit that I have gotten into in my reviews is being detailed - the devil is not just in the detail - it's in my reviews also.

Checking out and seeing how a company is rated and seen by the Better Business Bureau allows me to see how professionally and legally they conduct business. 

Which does give an indication as to how much we can trust them. 

Although, I do add how a company is rated by the Better Bureau is not the only sole source from which I judge how trusting we can be of a company.

A number of of other factors, indications and sources are taken into consideration which vary from company to company and industry to industry. 

Critical Mix Inc, the company that Own OneOpinion are not accredited by the BBB but do hold a perfect A+ rating

Digging a little deeper and reporting on the company that own Critical Mix, Dynata are fully accredited and hold a very respectable A rating with the BBB.

There are some concerning complaints about OneOpinion that have been made and registered with the Better Business Bureau which I have reproduced below as proof and for your reading pleasure.

I have a policy of prioritising complaints made and registered with the Better Business Bureau due to being a more official way of complaining and thus more genuine. 

Anyone can talk trash on other sites but complaining to the BBB has a greater degree of authenticity to the complaints made. 

Yes, OneOpinion Is Safe. 

These guys are not into surveillance capitalism and as per their privacy policy they take your privacy and information seriously. They do not participate in the sale of your information and personal data. 

You are not going to get a "Spam-valanche" of emails from them unlike many other survey companies out there. 

There are some things that I like about OneOpinion, which are: 

• Both the owner and the owner's owner are highly rated at the BBB
• They are a legitimate site and you can earn money with them
• Good Payout options
• They Respect your data and don't sell it!.

Nothing is ever "Peter Perfect" and quite frankly never will be, there were some things that I did not like about OneOpinion.

• High Minimum Cashout limit (US$25)
• Difficult to qualify for surveys. 
• Low Earning potential

Yes,

I have no doubt in regards to earning money with OneOpinion, the only thing is your earnings are minimal, next to nothing and not something that is life changing!

In my opinion OneOpinion is not a scam. 

I do not see any intentional deception and misleading you in any way at all or illegal activity by the site. 

Some bloggers are crying wolf here but sorry - low earning potential does not make an opportunity, regardless how,  a scam.

The one opinion that I have about OneOpinion is that your time is best spent doing something that is actually going to lead to you earning a substantial income long term. 

Sure, you can keep taking surveys, keep spending 3 to 4 hours daily to earn US$50 per month. 

But you will still be without the skills that you need to move ahead in your life, and still stuck earning US$50 per month for 3 to 4 hrs work daily. 

The key to your success online is learning the marketing skills required for success in the digital world. 

Once you have those skills you can make anything work for you - like affiliate marketing, which my my preferred way, network marketing and other online opportunities.  

You can, if you so wish "rent out" your skills and become a freelancer and work from home. 

More importantly you can build up your own business, developing and building a passive income and enjoy life more.
