Multilingual Connections Review

Multilingual Connections function as a business using the service based Agency Business Model. Their work comes into them from their clients, gets processed and/or translated as required with the end product forwarded to their clients for acceptance. 

As this company has a mix of both in house and independent contractors, only some of the work will be outsourced to their Freelance transcribers and translators with the bulk of the work I expect done by their in-house staff. 

What Is The Work Like?

Work with Multilingual Connections does appear to be very varied and interesting due to the multiple clients that they partner with across a range of different industries and subject matters. 

Working with a variety of different material can help to prevent your work from home life from getting to monotonous, particularly when you are transcribing raw, dry technical and boring audio files. 

What Are The Application Requirements?

Multilingual Connections don't specifically state what the requirements are for their freelancers or in house staff, only providing a deal of generic hyperbole and a general "What makes a great freelancer" without stating exact and specific details or skill sets that they require. 

It is stated that they are seeking experienced, organised and motivated individuals that keep in regular contact with their office. 

They accept application from all 50 states with the exception of California due to changes in regulations. 

No minimum typing speed, qualification, background or equipment needed stated at all. 

If for any reason you don't meet their requirements give consideration to Online Bookkeeping, Proofreading, Teaching English Online or Becoming a Virtual Assistant. 

Set working hours are not stated. As a freelancer you are responsible for setting your own hours and getting the work completed to set deadlines. 

The salary or rate of pay is not indicated on their website. I guess this will be discussed upon successful application. 

It is stated that prices vary depending on each project. 

Although what a translator or transcriber earns is not indicated on Glassdoor, it does appear that they do pay well judging by the salaries given for other positions at their company.

As I suspect they hire in all states except California, you will be paid by direct deposit. 

This is not indicated. 

Due to being very specific about not hiring California resident, I expect they are accepting applicant only from the other 49 states and not accepting international applications. 

There are a few things that I like about Multilingual Connections which are: 

• They are perfectly rated at A+ by the Better Business Bureau. 
• They are a long established company. 
• Very well rated on Glassdoor and said to be a great place to work. 
• It does appear that their employee's and contractors are well paid. 

There are a few things that I did not like about Multilingual connections. 

• Not Accredited by the Better Business Bureau. 
• No exact details about their requirements & qualifications
• No complete details about their recruitment process. 
• Appear not to be an international opportunity.

Yes, 

You can make money as an independent contractor with this company. I am not able to determine how much this is, though it is understandable as each project that the company gets is unique and different and thus they cannot state a price paid per contract nor are they able to. 

It is my opinion that Multilingual Connections are not a scam. 

I have been unable to determine nor to uncover any fraudulent or deceptive activities by this company and by definition they are legitimate. 

Multilingual Connections are certainly worth trying your hand at. 

It appears that they pay well and are a very pleasurable company to work with. It is not indicated how their work flow is or how many hours per week you can get with them. 

If your application is successful, treat it a side gig until proven otherwise (i.e regular work).
