Is The Daily Wealth Newsletter A Scam? [REVIEWS]

The Daily Wealth newsletter is a free financial advice newsletter focused around investing by Dr Steve SJuggerud and published by Stansberry Research. 

The investment philsosophy of The Daily Wealth Newsletter encompasses the ethos of the publishing company which is to buy investments that are of an exceptional value and when they are not wanted by anyone, then sell the investments at an incredible profit when, literally when the whole world wants in on that investment. 

Dr Steve Sjiggerud talks about this strategy a lot through out the website and his newsletters, including his premium subscription based The True Wealth Systems Newsletter. 

The staff at the Daily Wealth newsletter believe that the majority of investors take far too many unnecessary risks when it comes to investing, hence their mission to show you, the reader the best ways to avoid risky investing strategies and techniques. 

They also show you how to avoid the techniques and methods that average investors are doing.  

The Daily Wealth has the belief that you can make a high profit from investing and safely by going against the trends and what other investors are doing. 

They cover significantly more than regular day to day investing opportunities that are available on the market. 

Most of the investment, from what I have seen are Exchange Traded Funds and commodities with an average "hold" period of one year.

Who Is Dr Steve Sjaggerud?

Dr. Steve Sjaggerud, joined Stansberry Research since 2001 and is the editor of a few newsletters published by them namely: 

• The True Wealth Systems Newsletter
• True Wealth Opportunities: China
• True Wealth Opportunities: Commodities

He holds a Doctorate in Finance and at only the age of 23 he was in charge of A US$50 million Mutual Fund.  

He is a well known figure and in the financial world and is a regular guest speaker at many prestigious events all over the world including events held by the NYSE.

He appears regularly on the following financial media outlets:

• Fox Business News. 
• Bloomberg
• Wall Street Journal
• Forbes

I am pretty sure I have seen Dr Steve Sjaggerud on the Keiser Report, by Max Keiser appearing as an expert on China. 

There are 2 versions of the Daily Wealth newsletter - free and premium. As you can imagine the premium version is mentioned frequently in the free version of the newsletter to entice readers to go premium. 

Naturally, the free version is much more basic and not as extensively covering the subject in as great detail and depth as the premium versions. 

It is still a nice taster if you were considering or were curious about the premium version, then the free one is a very good starting point. 

What Do You Get When You Subscribe?

What you receive as a subscriber is pretty "Bobby Basic". There is nothing special, no back office or anything like that at all. You just get the latest Wealth Building financial advice sent to your inbox. 

Or, 

As I have noticed, you can just visit the website site if you don't want to give them your email address. The latest newsletter edition will be published there. 

Frequently all you will get is a teaser, half the information that you need. Enough to whet your appetite and bait you to the premium version of the newsletter. 

I don't see anything wrong with that - the writer and researchers need to be paid for and their product is finance newsletters. 

As they say, free does n't pay the bills!. 

Still though the newsletter is very well reviewed and received by many online and is said to have some great advice. If that is the case I could put up with a little bit of advertising bait to get my info for free!. 

To an extent the free version serves to demonstrate to subscribers how past investments advice from the premium version is performing. 

A newsletter - free or paid, does not get rated nor accredited by the Better Business Bureau as they are not considered as a business in their own right but as a product.

I can dig down and check out the publishing company and see how they conduct business and if they are accredited and how well they are rated by the BBB. 

This is something that I actually like to do as it does give a nice indication as to how professional they conduct business and how well they treat their clients and consumers. 

At the time of writing, the Stansberry Research Page On The Better Business Bureau is currently being updated and no information in regards to their accreditation or status/rating is available. 

Of the most common complaints that I see online across a variety of sites including stock gumtree and trust pilot were related to the newsletter being very overt with adverts to get the premium versions and being quite pushy and baiting readers to sign up for the premium version.

It's a business, they have bills to pay. How do you expect them to pay the bills?. 

Sure, I am not a fan of free newsletters that over do it on the push to upgrade and they could tone it down a bit, but some advertising for their premium services and products is to be expected. 

There is a lot of things to like about the Daily Wealth Newsletter. 

• It's free!. I Can't Complaint about something that is free!
• The advice in the newsletter is good and well received
• Written by a well respected expert.

There are somethings that I did not like about the Daily Wealth Newsletter. 

• There are actually a bit too heavy on the push for upgrading to the premium version. Tone it down boys!
• Some of the advice given although good, is said to be too conservative. 
• It is published by Stansberry Research, who's owner, Porter Stansberry was accused of and charged with Fraud by The SEC for knowingly giving false financial information by means of digital info products (finance newsletters).

Not really, regardless of what version you chose. 

I'm not saying the financial information is not good. Investing is a means of growing your wealth, increasing your net worth and not particularly for producing an income unless you have a LOT to invest. 

I would not say that the Daily Wealth Newsletter is a scam nor Dr Steve Sjuggerud either. To call someone or something  a scam clear evidence of such has to be available, the kinds that would stand up in court. 

I am not one for crying wolf or making false accusations at all.

Do aware of the legal history behind the owner of Stansberry research and being taken to court by the SEC for knowingly providing and profiting from false financial information provided in newsletters. 

You get what you pay for, or in this case what you don't pay for!. When a product is free, be it a newsletter of any genre or an app for your phone expect some kind of ads to be there.
