Reliv are certainly YABBO and with no unique angle or selling point making me think "what's the point!"... in starting a business with them?.

Reliv International or simply known as Reliv are a network marketing company in the health and wellness market, just like Sisel they stand out by being manufacturers of their own nutritional supplements.
They were founded in 1988 by Robert Montgomery and are headquartered in St. Louis, Chesterfield and are a formerly publically traded company having traded on the NASDAQ Index with the RELV ticker.
Currently they are delisted.
Their 40,000+ distributors operate and sell their products in in 14 countries in 4 continents, which are:

- Malaysia
- Phillipines
- Singapore

- The Netherlands
According to sources their website generates 45,000 unique visitors with 64% of their traffic from the US and generate US$36 Million per year.

Who Is Robert Montgomery?
Reliv founder Robert is said to be an entrepreneur at heart and started Reliv at the ripe old age of 23!.
He knew early on what he wanted in life, the freedom to be his own boss and take charge of his life, his time and to help people to have that financial security to do that same.
There is no information available in regards to any other business experience, corporate background or education about Robert online. Having startes Reliv at only 23 years young it does appear that this is his first and only venture into the world of network marketing.
Reliv International Lawsuit
There is only 1 lawsuit that I have been able to find. It dates back to 2013 where a suit was file by the Environmental Research Centre for having excessive amounts of lead in their products.
However, to be fair they revised their products to meet the new standards of Proposition 65.

They also have a line of nutrition products for kids and are entering the hot and popular CBD and Hemp Oil market.

No,
Reliv are not BFAD Approved. Their products as designed to help the user to improve their overall nutrition and lead a healthier lifestyle.
Is Reliv International FDA Approved?
No,
None of Reliv International products are approved by the Food And Drug administration as the FDA do not approve of any dietary supplement to cure, treat, manage or prevent any known health condition.
I have not seen any evidence or documentation regarding their products being manufactured in a clean and safe environment or any such certification like the NSF or cGMP to confirm that.
Reliv International Side Effects
There are some potential side effects associated with Reliv International products due to containing soy.
Soy is a known allergen. Some people have complained of:

What I Liked About Reliv International
There are some things that I did like about Reliv International which were:
- Fully accredited and rated at a perfect A+ by the Better Business Bureau.
- They Are Members Of The Direct Sellers Association.
- Been around for 30+ years which is a very long time for an MLM company.
- The pay high commissions in the 20% to 40% range.
What I Did Not Like About Reliv International
There are a few things that I did not like about Reliv International which were:
- The 137 False Income Claims by Ambassadors as reported by The Truth In Advertising.
- Lawsuit against them for containing lead.
- Very bland company with very bland products.
- No USP for the whole company or their products.
- Products are very expensive when compared to others, which is fine when and if they have a stand out selling point (which they don't).
Can You Make Money With Reliv International?
This part facts are important and a network marketing company should always post an income disclosure statement.
Thankfully they have.
From the income disclosure statement we can see that 1.32% of all distributors earned an average of US$3,560.66 per month and took on average 158 month to achieve that rank (8-KDR).
That is clearly telling both you and me that it will, on average take you 13 years and 2 months to earn what is a reasonable income for an independent business owner.
Note that 98.68% of all distributors fail to reach that amount of earnings, which is total income not inclusive of taxes and expenses associated with running your business.
Those figure fall perfectly in line with Dr Jon Taylor findings that 99.7% of all participants of a MLM opportunity end up losing money!.
Is Reliv International A Pyramid Scheme?
From what I have seen and examined I can confirm that Reliv are not a pyramid scheme.
They do not fit the legal description of one and do appear to comply with all laws and regulations associated with the operation of a network marketing opportunity!.

Yes,
Reliv Is a MLM opportunity. This can be easily discovered due to paying their distributors on more than one level.

Reliv International is not a scam.
I have seen nothing to suggest there is any deception or fraudulent activity by the company directly that would cause me to think or be suspicious of them being a scam

There are many alternatives to Relive International as there is no shortage of network marketing opportunities in the health and wellness market. Here is a list of just a few.

These are all network marketing opportunities, which is a very tough business to succeed in and very hard business model with recruitment and face to face selling which probably goes a long way to explaining the high failure rate.
I suggest you give some serious consideration to a different type of business where the odds are stacked in your favour in terms of your probability of succeeding.
Affiliate Marketing is one such model, where you are not required to store any merchandise, or do any face to face selling and absolutely zero recruiting.

Reliv International is very grey and bland as far as business opportunity goes, which is probably why 98.68% of their distributors are failing.
They are very "vanilla" and very bland selling the "same old" products as everyone else but at an elevated price with absolutely no reason for any one to buy them.
Any one starting a business with Relive will struggle to earn a full-time income - I 98.68% guarantee it!.
Skip it and try something else!.
