WordPress will be the platform we are using to build your website. WordPress is entirely customizable and as flexible as an Olympic gymnast and zero coding required. 

....and above all WordPress free and very user friendly. 

This site that you are on right now is build using WordPress and I don't know a single line of code!. 

And thankfully I don't have to!. I hate all that techie stuff!.

If you think that Google and other search engines won't find your site because you are using WordPress - relax! 35% of all websites are built using WordPress and 52% of all Content Management Systems are powered by WordPress. 

In short, WordPress is the market leader and there is no disadvantage of using WordPress. 

I can only think of advantages!. 

From the welcome screen that you will be directed to. Below your photo you will see a list of options. 

Click on "Websites" as highlighted a second screen will pop up next to that click on "Site Builder". 

Yep, this is where I build and host my sites!. 

Once you have done this a new screen will appear. From this screen you have 3 options. Which you chose is entirely up to you. 

You can register a domain, or build a website on a domain that you already own or build a site on a free domain.

For the purpose of this tutorial let's go with that first choice. "build  a site on a free domain"

Once you have clicked "On A Free Domain" a drop down screen will appear. 

Now you are ready to get to the meat and bones!. Think of a good website name and enter it where it says "YourSiteName". 

Enter an appropriate title for your website and get ready for the next step.

Nearly there!. 

Now this is the design phase, and it is a difficult as selecting a theme that you like and clicking it! 

This will be the look that you give to your site. Personally, I wouldn't spend too much time deliberating on this one as you can easily change it any time at all. 

My Girlfriend...OMG...she just had to look at and try out just about every theme a couple of times (yes all 4000+!). 

...and she wonders why I won't go shopping with her!.

If that is what she like choosing a theme for a website you can just imagine what she is like shopping!. 

Once you have selected your theme, you will be taken to another screen that look something like the screenshot below, but will have the theme that you have chosen. 

All that is left is for you to click that green button and Boom! you site is ready!.

See, so simple, No coding no clicking nothing. 

The most difficult thing you had to do was think of a name for your site and choose a Theme!.

When it comes to the arduous task of thinking of name for your website a general rule of thumb is to keep the name under 17 characters long for purposes of ranking slightly better in Search Engines. 

Try as best as you can to avoid dashes, hyphens, numbers (spelling or numerical) and have a good thought about how your site name sounds phonetically when spoken out aloud to a complete stranger. 

"My Dash WebSite" sounds terrible when compared to "MyWebsite" adding dashes and numbers just make it sound worse phonetically. 

Something that rolls of the tongue rather easily is what you are aiming for. It better for branding and for being remembered.
